Disability Shamed! Baylen Dupree Told Her Disorder Was a “Choice” – The Shocking Reason Baylen Dupree Walked Away
TLC BAYLEN DUPREE
If she wanted her degree, she had to stop her vocal tics immediately — and “stop cussing.”
There was no medical discussion. No accommodation. No attempt to understand her condition. Just an order to switch off a neurological disorder — as if it were a bad habit.
The irony couldn’t be more painful.
Baylen Dupree in tic community
In a profession built around science, care, and compassion, Baylen found herself surrounded by people who fundamentally misunderstood a well-documented medical condition. Tourette’s Syndrome is not a choice. Vocal tics are not intentional. And yet, Baylen says she was treated as if she were being defiant, not disabled.
The pressure became unbearable. Being told to suppress her symptoms wasn’t just unrealistic — it was harmful. Instead of being supported, Baylen was made to feel like a problem that needed fixing.

Baylen Out Loud: Baylen Responds To Haters Making Fun of Her Tics
Over the years, fans and online trolls have mocked Baylen. Sometimes they take it too far. They not only criticize Baylen but also her family and Colin. However, the Baylen Out Loud star isn’t staying quiet anymore. In a recent Instagram Reel, she put up some of the cruel comments she’s received. She calls out people who mock her tics, appearance, and even her relationship. The video flashes remarks like “you’re faking,” “why can’t you have nice tics,” and worse.

Baylen supporters know these comments are frequently posted online. It is painfully clear what she deals with online. Baylen uses a platform to remind people that words have real-life impact. In the Reel, she is lip-syncing to Nicky Minaj’s popular, “And I realised I don’t care anymore what anybody gotta say, Imma do me” audio clip. Good for you, Baylen. It seems like that’s the kind of positive, “don’t care” attitude Baylen’s bringing to 2026.
Baylen’s response is apt for a new-year-new-me Baylen. There’s no meltdown, no yelling, just confidence and clarity. Baylen makes it clear that her tics are part of who she is. Moreover, she won’t be shamed or judged for it. In this post, she isn’t defending herself. She’s standing up for others who live with Tourette’s or any condition that invites unwanted opinions.
Baylen’s post also garnered support from her fans. One wrote to ignore online haters. Another pointed out that it’s sad people choose to use hurtful words when she puts herself out there. “We love you, Baylen! You are a beautiful, strong woman[…] don’t worry about all the negativity”, another wrote. For more Baylen Out Loud updates, follow Daily News.
