Breaking News29‘General Hospital’ Favorite Tristan Rogers Reveals Cancer Diagnosis

In heartbreaking news on Thursday, General Hospital’s Tristan Rogers (Robert Scorpio) has come forward and revealed he has been diagnosed with cancer. The last time viewers of the ABC daytime drama series saw the character of Scorpio was when he left Port Charles along with Holly Sutton (played by Emma Samms) back in November of 2024.
Now comes word via a statement released by Rogers publicist, Anthony Turk, which expressed the following: “Beloved Emmy winning actor Tristan Rogers, best known for his role as Robert Scorpio on the daytime drama, General Hospital is sharing with fans that has been diagnosed with cancer. While he remains hopeful and is working closely with his medical team on a treatment plan, this is a challenging time for Tristan and his family.”
The statement on Rogers health statement went on to say, “As they face both the emotional and physical burdens that come with this diagnosis, the family kindly asks for privacy and understanding. They are deeply grateful for the outpouring of support and love from their friends and family Tristan sends his love to his fans and wants them to know how much he appreciates their loyalty and encouragement over the years. The support means more to him now than ever.” According to Turk, “Future updates will be shared if deemed appropriate by Tristan and his family.”

Rogers first appeared on General Hospital back in 1980 as Robert Scorpio, and has been with the daytime drama series, on and off, at various times through the decades. He also had appeared on The Young and the Restless as Colin Atkinson a role he played from 2010-2012, 2014-17, and 2019.

In addition, Tristan has appeared in the streaming series, The Bay as Lex Martin, and won a Daytime Emmy for his role as Doc in another digital drama, Sean Kanan’s Studio City, back in 2019 in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Digital Drama Series.
