Here are the latest comings and goings casting news from all five daytime dramas: The Bold and the Beautiful, Days of our Lives, General Hospital, The Young and the Restless, and Beyond the Gates.
Casting For The Week of August 18
Find out if any of your favorite actors and actresses from yesteryear are returning to the shows you watch, if any newcomers have been cast in contract, recurring, or day-player roles, or if any popular performers are about to make their exit.
The Bold and the Beautiful Casting
Matthew Atkinson, who left B&B as Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) and Taylor’s (Rebecca Budig) son, Thomas Forrester, in July 2024, is back on set filming. Atkinson teased the news via a cryptic post on Instagram: A video of himself playing cornhole at the soap’s studio complex along with the caption, “Second time’s a charm.” Expect to see the popular actor back onscreen next month.
So far there’s been no word as to whether or not Atkinson will be joined by Diamond White, who played Paris Buckingham, or Henry Joseph Samiri, who played his son, Douglas Forrester. When the threesome was last seen, Thomas and Paris announced their engagement before they all headed to France.
General Hospital Casting
Kirsten Storms is back as Maxie Jones on GH this week. The actress, who’s moved to Tennessee with her daughter, Harper, previously announced that she had taken an extended break from the soap and had already filmed her final scenes. However, she noted that she hoped to return to the show by the year’s end. In the interim, Nicole Paggi has been filling in as Maxie.
Vernee Watson is back as Stella Henry. The character finds herself in the hot seat on Monday, August 18.
Kathleen Gati returns as Dr. Liesl Obrecht. She shares combative scenes opposite Alexa Havins’ Lulu on Thursday, August 21.
Days of our Lives Casting
Thaao Penghlis returns to DAYS as Tony DiMera on Monday, August 18. He has emotional scenes with his TV brother, Dan Feuerriegel’s EJ.
Miles Anderson pops in as Foster, the owner of a local Salem bookstore. He interacts with Susan Seaforth Hayes’ Julie and others on Tuesday, August 19.
Alice Halsey is back as young Rachel Black on Tuesday, August 19 and Thursday, August 21. She shares scenes with Deidre Hall’s Marlena and others.
Timothy Hornor makes another appearance as Adam, Leo’s (Greg Rikaart) juror roommate. He’s part of the deliberation process in the case against Johnny (Carson Boatman) on Thursday, August 21.
Karole Foreman continues her run as Judge Dabney. Her character officiates over Johnny’s trial on Tuesday, August 19, and Friday, August 22.
The Young and the Restless Casting
Cait Fairbanks gets more airtime as Y&R’s Tessa Porter, Mariah’s (Camryn Grimes) estranged wife. The talented songstress-musician once again connects with Michael Graziadei’s Daniel on Wednesday, August 20. Look for Daniel to see a new side to Tessa.
