Brace Yourselves: Victor’s Jaw-Dropping Next Move Threatens to End One of the Longest-Running Storylines in Young & Restless History

Set your DVRs now, because the Thursday, August 21, episode of The Young and the Restless promises to be a game-changer, a show-shaker and, quite possibly, a feud-ender. Why’s that? Victor’s shocking decision may be to — gasp! — team up with archenemy Jack.
Why Would Victor Partner With Jack?
“Unthinkable!” you say. Ordinarily, we’d agree. But with Cane running around plotting to buy up everything in Genoa City except maybe Crimson Lights, the unthinkable may well be exactly what’s required.
At the moment, Victor is playing the new mover and shaker in town, making Cane believe that he wants to team up. But if — or should we say when? — that doesn’t pan out, the Black Knight is sure to say, “To hell with this interloper!” and whack his piece off the chess board. Who better to help Victor do it than the person who stands to lose as much as he does if Cane is successful: Jack.
What Would This Twist Mean for the Show?
If after all these years, Victor and Jack buried the hatchet for long enough to stab Cane in the back, they could discover that it’s every bit as much fun lashing out at others as it is smacking down each other. In other words, it could bring to a close what may well at this point be the show’s longest-running storyline: their endless rivalry.
If Victor and Jack were to call a truce, it wouldn’t be like the soap would lack for enmity. The tag team would still be at odds with Cane, Nick is ready to take the erstwhile Dumas’ head off, and Billy and Adam are as unlikely to ever shake hands and say “bygones” as they are to doubt their own business acumen.
