One of them was about how long it took her to learn that her marriage was already over, even before it ended in divorce.

Olivia explained that a year into the marriage made her realize that Ethan was abusive. At that time, she spoke to her dad about how she was considering divorce. She felt things were overwhelming since his family was hard to navigate. The elopement wedding photographer got sheltered even after moving 800 miles to their farmhouse.

Ethan altogether avoided putting up boundaries with his family throughout his marriage to Olivia. Nothing could stop him from being close to his parents and siblings. But she said her mental health peaked here, and she wanted to get out of it immediately. Her dad warned her not to break God’s heart or his own.
