Survivor 50 continues to break records and push boundaries. Kicking off with the largest cast in the franchise’s history at 24 players and featuring a mammoth merge of 17 contestants, this season is undeniably unique.

Now, Survivor 50 has made headlines once again with the largest Tribal Council in its history, as confirmed by host Jeff Probst.

In episode 7, titled “That’s Not How I Play Survivor”, 14 players appeared at Tribal Council, with 13 casting their votes – a record-breaking assembly! Dee Valladares, who was voted out during this episode, infamously utilized her Shot in the Dark.

Initially, following the impactful Blood Moon twist, there were assumptions of a split into two groups at Tribal Council. Instead, fans witnessed the surprise of a single, massive ceremony.

This isn’t the first instance of a large Tribal Council; previous gatherings with 13 players occurred, notably during the controversial Survivor: Island of the Idols (season 39).

Despite the thrilling numbers, it should be noted that this instance isn’t quite the largest in terms of votes cast; due to Dee’s strategic play, it won’t surpass the 13 votes cast in season 39, yet it undoubtedly stands as the biggest non-final Tribal Council in history.

Survivor 50 Will Not Have the Largest Final Tribal Council in the Show’s History

As we anticipate the remaining episodes, it’s important to clarify that even with a 17-player merge, Survivor 50 will not witness the largest Final Tribal Council based on votes.

The record still belongs to Survivor: Winners at War (season 40), where 16 players cast votes, resulting in Tony Vlachos’ victory with 12 votes over Natalie Anderson.

Looking ahead in Survivor 50, assuming no injuries pull players from the game, we’ll see only 14 voting during the Final Tribal Council with three finalists included, solidifying Winners at War as a record that may never be broken.

The sheer number of players this season has raised eyebrows: 24 contestants across 26 days is unprecedented, leading to speculations about the structure of play. Fans have noted the diluted action, with players openly discussing these challenges in exit interviews.
