Emmerdale’s Dr Todd has been terrorising trainee doctor Jacob Sugden in recent weeks
Fans of Emmerdale believe they’ve exposed Dr Todd’s secret accomplice in a shock Dales twist. ITV soap viewers will know that Dr Caitlin Todd (Caroline Harker) began mentoring new student doctors at Hotten General Hospital back in January 2025. This is where she first met Jacob Sugden (Joe-Warren Plant).
Last month, Dr Todd accepted Jacob into an exclusive mentorship programme she was running and assigned him to come up with a research question for them to work on. The pair are now involved in a disturbing workplace bullying storyline, with Dr Todd cruelly taking advantage of the youngster.
The plot came to a head earlier this week when Jacob revived Todd’s father, who was in hospital while suffering with late-stage dementia. Todd was furious with Jacob for ignoring the Do Not Resuscitate (DNR) order on her dad’s file, leading to a panicked Jacob accidentally knocking Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) over with his car.

While checking on Cain at the hospital, Kerry Pollard (Laura Norton) overheard Todd berating Jacob, and quickly made her feelings clear. “I know exactly what’s going on here, and if you’re looking for a fight, you’ve met your match,” Kerry warned the doctor.
Referencing Jacob’s previous experience of grooming by his teacher Maya Stepney (Louisa Clein), Kerry continued: “He’s been here before, you know. Power-mad women exploiting him. What’s happened in your life that’s made you want to destroy other people’s?”
Which is now available to stream on ITVX, Kerry apologised to Jacob for lashing out at Todd, with the youngster urging his step-grandmother to “stay out of my life”. At the hospital, Jacob tried to make amends with his mentor, as well as reasurring her that he’d do whatever it takes to do his job well.
However, it looks as though Todd hasn’t forgotten Kerry’s words, as she was later seen searching Maya’s name on her work computer, before reading an article about the jailed teacher’s abuse. What is Todd planning?

Now, several Emmerdale fans are convinced that Todd has a secret accomplice in the village, and their theory may surprise you. Many people believe that Todd is working with Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough), who notably returned from the dead during the Corriedale crossover after six years.
“Anyone else think that Dr Todd and Graham are in cahoots with each other?” one person wrote on a Facebook fan page. “Graham was on the phone to someone talking about the double doses, and she’s a doctor so knows about medication?” This comes after Graham was secretly getting information from an unknown caller, after recently spiking his ex-wife Kim Tate’s (Claire King) medication.
