Shock in Survivor 50: Christian Hubicki’s Last Allies May Be Ready to Blow the Game Wide Open

Shock in Survivor 50 is building fast as Emily Flippen and Rick Devens, left out of last week’s vote, appear to have a major plan forming that could turn episode 10 into a full-on game changer.

“I Deserve All of This” – After losing two alliance members, castaways spend the next day picking up the pieces of their broken alliance. The castaways face off against a surprise challenger during this week’s individual immunity competition. Then, upon their return to camp, the journey participant must read aloud an important announcement regarding their recent adventure, on SURVIVOR 50. Last week, Survivor 50 was jolted by a stunning—and unpopular—twist that sent Christian Hubicki to the jury. In a split vote between Christian and Rick Devens, only two players were left on the outside, voting for Ozzy Lusth instead: Devens and Emily Flippen, Christian’s closest allies.

Now, in two new sneak peeks for episode 10, “A Side Dish of Chaos,” viewers are getting a first look at how the pair handles returning to camp after writing Ozzy’s name down. Emily’s modern social strategy appears to shift into survival mode, while Devens’ old-school love of chaos seems ready to take over. Check it out below!

In the first clip, Emily tries to clean up the mess after her attempt to blindside ally Ozzy goes wrong. She meets him after Tribal Council and admits she did throw him under the bus in an effort to save Christian—and she apologizes. Emily then says she has never felt so isolated at camp and is determined to repair the relationships she damaged.

But the second clip shows the same Tribal Council fallout from a very different angle. Ozzy confronts Devens, insisting he doesn’t have an idol because he never played it, but Devens shrugs it off and says he is doing his best impression of Rizo Velovic holding onto the idol in Survivor 49.

When Emily and Devens finally get a chance to talk in the hammock—a spot that has hosted plenty of strategic conversations this season—their two game styles are set to collide. Devens knows anger will only lead to a bad move, so his best option is to lean into chaos, even if that chaos creates either a winning move or a spectacularly messy one.

Devens also reminds Emily of the chaos agent inside her—the same energy that has powered much of her game this season—by pointing out that they are two Survivor fans who know how to go big or go home. Since they are on the bottom, he argues, they really have nothing to lose. Emily seems to agree, and Devens is ready to start imagining all the wild ways they could seize control—or at least blow up everyone else’s plans so they are not the only ones sinking.

And if history is any guide, Devens is no stranger to making noise from a powerless position. Back in Edge of Extinction, he spent much of the game on the bottom but still managed to stir things up enough to go from being voted out fourth to finishing fourth overall. There is little doubt we are about to see something big—and for those watching at home, something extremely entertaining—unfold at the hands of Emily and Devens.
