Will they walk free — or could this be the end of the road for Paddy in Emmerdale?

Is Paddy on the verge of leaving Emmerdale for good? That’s the big question keeping viewers guessing as he, Bear and Dylan head into a tense trial that could change all three lives in an instant.
With murder and perverting the course of justice among the charges they face, the pressure could hardly be higher. Paddy has already begun preparing for the worst, even getting his affairs in order. But a last-minute development means the outcome may not be as straightforward as it first appears.

Late hope for Paddy, Bear and Dylan in Emmerdale
In Friday’s episode (May 1), Paddy tried to stay busy and distract himself from the looming trial.
After failing to persuade Simo to testify for Bear, he had almost accepted the worst. But Marlon refused to give up and brought Graham in to track Simo down.
Then came a dramatic turnaround: Simo arrived in the village and confirmed he would give evidence in court. Paddy was relieved, especially after Zara explained that it could help strengthen Bear’s defence. Even so, the danger is far from over.
After an emotional family meal, Paddy took a quiet moment alone and looked out across the village, clearly wondering whether he was about to lose everything he has built there.

The trial begins next week
As the new week begins, nerves are running high as the trial finally gets underway.
Paddy and Dylan share an emotional moment before heading into court, fully aware of what is at stake.
April is first to take the stand, but the pressure quickly overwhelms her. Despite Marlon urging her to stay strong and tell the truth about Ray, she struggles under cross-examination and later fears she may have damaged Dylan’s case.
Dylan then gives evidence, followed by Simo. Meanwhile, Bear starts to unravel as he is forced to relive his traumatic experiences in front of the court.
When Zara reveals that Bear will have to testify himself, Paddy’s anxiety grows even worse. Although Bear’s counsellor helps explain the abuse he endured, the real question is whether Bear can keep his composure when it matters most.

Is Paddy leaving Emmerdale?
At this stage, the case against the trio looks strong.
Bear’s behaviour during police interviews — including admitting he intended to kill Ray — along with the financial evidence and his conduct in prison, all paint a very difficult picture for the defence.
Paddy and Dylan have also admitted to repeatedly lying to the police, which is unlikely to help their position in court.
For now, the show is keeping the result tightly under wraps. There has been no confirmation about whether any of the characters are set to leave.
However, later scenes show Paddy worrying about his future as a vet, suggesting the verdict could still be hanging in the balance.
At the same time, Mandy is struggling too, forced to close the salon because of poor business. With uncertainty everywhere, she may be facing the loss of much more than her livelihood.
For now, viewers will have to stay tuned to see how it all unfolds — and whether Paddy’s time in the village is truly coming to an end.
