A simple social media post from the longtime host has ignited a wave of nostalgia, wild theories, and loud calls for CBS to revive some of the show’s most memorable twists.

Julie Chen Moonves is stirring up fresh conversation among “Big Brother” fans just as Season 28 inches closer.
The veteran host shared a new Instagram post on May 18 while the countdown continues for “Big Brother 28,” which is set to premiere Thursday, July 9 on CBS. CBS has already confirmed the new season, but Chen Moonves’ latest message turned the spotlight onto a bigger question: what should return this time around?
“What are your favorite things from past seasons that you’d love to see in #BB28?” Chen Moonves wrote on Instagram.
That one question was all it took to unleash a flood of responses from former houseguests, recent players, longtime viewers, and even Pluto TV.

Fans Flood ‘BB28’ With Bold Requests and Deep-Cut Throwbacks
CBSThe fan replies ranged from nostalgia to very specific game mechanics that longtime viewers have been waiting to see again.
One viewer wrote, “BRING BACK THE KEY WHEEL JULIE!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!”
The key wheel was used in earlier seasons during nomination ceremonies. The Head of Household would pull keys from a circular box to reveal which houseguests were safe, while the two without keys were placed on the block.
Another commenter posted, “Pandora’s box 🤭”
Pandora’s Box was one of the show’s most talked-about twists, giving the Head of Household a choice that could lead to a reward, a punishment, or both.
Other fans asked for returning players, a nine-person jury, evicted houseguests fighting their way back into the game, and older contestants who are not social media influencers.
CBSMore requests followed, including food competitions, Have-Not competitions, and “Big Brother” favorite Britney Haynes hosting a challenge.
“Make Julie Chen a houseguest,” another viewer wrote.
Even Pluto TV jumped into the fun with its own returnee suggestion.
“how do we negotiate Vanessa’s return,” the account commented, referring to “Big Brother 17” runner-up Vanessa Rousso.
One especially specific callback came from a fan who wrote, “Jen Johnson’s red unitard.”
Johnson competed on “Big Brother 8,” and her red unitard became one of the show’s most unforgettable punishments.
