As we head into 2025, it’s time to shake up the romance department and pair up some characters who could spark major fireworks—if not burn the town down! Here’s our dream list of couples we’d like to see get together this year!

DOOL – Doug Williams III and Ava Vitali: Two rebels in need of a cause

We don’t know much about Doug Williams III, the charming grandson of Julie and Doug Williams, other than he is no stranger to the wrong side of the law.

Which is all the common ground he needs to start a relationship with ex-mob daughter, Ava. It wouldn’t be the first time Ms. Vitali played Mrs. Robinson to a man half her age. (Joey Jackson? Johnny DiMera?)

But Doug has more than just boy-next-door charm to offer. Much like Ava, who has been on a redemptive journey lately, trying to shake her troubled past and prove she’s more than her infamous crime family legacy,

Doug is also attempting to escape a sordid history and reinvent himself in Salem. Could pairing these two bring out the best in both of them?

Or would their irresistible urge for trouble magnify itself to a level that Salem hasn’t seen before? Either way, these two would make for must-watch TV.

Days of Our Lives – Belle Black and Marc Greene: Switching it up

Belle Black is no stranger to messy love triangles, but in 2025, it’s time for her to find a stable, drama-free romance.

Marc Greene, a newcomer to Salem, seems like the perfect match. Belle has just been appointed district attorney of Salem and Marc is doing his best to avoid prison time for attempting to shoot Chad at the behest of Clyde Weston. So their paths will certainly cross in the new year.

The dynamic between Belle and Marc would make for a compelling power couple storyline. Belle, more used to playing the damsel in distress, came to Marc’s rescue when former DA, EJ attempted to manipulate him into accepting an unfair plea deal.

Which shows that when it comes to a potential relationship, for the first time we might get to see her in the more dominate role. And Marc, who has been raising his siblings on his own for the past several years, clearly needs someone who can take the reigns since we’ve seen where his decision making skills have gotten him.

Not to mention, despite her tryst with EJ, Belle has notoriously been the “good girl” of the family. How would her family react to her dating a known criminal? Regardless, Belle deserves a fresh start and Marc might just be the man to give it to her.

DOOL – Brady Black and Gabi Hernandez: A fiery fusion of passion and pragmatism

Brady Black’s love life has been a rollercoaster of heartbreak and betrayal, and it’s high time he found someone who can match his intensity and devotion.

Enter Kristin DiMera! Just kidding. Well, sort of! We all know I am president of the unofficial “Bristin” fan club, but for the sake of shaking things up a bit, let’s this once consider another option.

Gabi Hernandez, a woman who knows exactly what she wants and isn’t afraid to go after it. Gabi’s unapologetic ambition and Brady’s emotional vulnerability could create an electrifying pairing.

While these two have rarely crossed paths romantically, their chemistry would be undeniable. Both Brady and Gabi have a knack for self-sabotage and seeing them navigate their flaws together would be soap opera gold.

Plus, their shared history of dealing with toxic exes and family drama makes them more alike than they might think. The stories of dating a DiMera alone could keep them engaged in lively conversation for the rest of the year!

Beyond their mutual romantic failures, they also share a common professional ambition. Imagine Brady and Gabi teaming up to take on Titan or DiMera Enterprises (whoever they are working for or against these days….it’s hard to keep up!), only to have their sizzling connection get in the way.

Could their romance be the start of a Salem power duo? Or will their fiery personalities burn too hot to handle? Either way, this is the kind of pairing Days fans need in 2025.

Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – JJ Deveraux And Chanel Dupree: A sweet yet unexpected pairing

JJ Deveraux has always been Salem’s quintessential good guy with a bit of a rebellious streak. And he’s had his fair share of dalliances during his many residencies in Salem.

But since his true love, Paige Larson was brutally murdered in 2015, he has failed to find love again. Chanel Dupree has had her fair share of romantic ups and downs, and just discovered her husband (to whom she is on her second marriage), depending on your definition of “cheating”, cheated on her with Joy Weston.

Despite Johnny’s pleas for forgiveness, Chanel has called it quits. Could JJ be the one to mend her broken heart?

Chanel and JJ could create a love story that’s both heartwarming and unexpected. JJ’s grounded nature could be exactly what Chanel needs after the drama of her previous relationships while Chanel’s vivacious energy could help JJ rediscover his zest for life.

JJ’s loyalty to his family and commitment to his job on the force would be very attractive to Chanel, who no doubt is looking for stability after a series of relationships that have ended due to infidelity.

And JJ has been so consumed with the loss of his sister and his quest for justice these past few years, he’s forgotten how to have fun. He couldn’t help but be drawn to Chanel’s passion for life and sense of adventure.

The bond between JJ and Chanel would develop over their shared losses and struggles. And slowly we’d get to watch it build into a beautiful relationship based on trust and understanding. It would be a love story no doubt filled with tender moments and unexpected twists.

Would Chanel’s mother, Paulina, approve of their budding romance? Would JJ’s past demons resurface to complicate things? Either way, this pairing would be a delightful blend of romance and drama that could quickly become a fan favorite.
