‘General Hospital’ Recap January 15: Dinner For Two, Lost Money, A Lost Career, & Jason’s Shocking Choice
Don’t miss what happened on GH Wednesday, January 15!
Today’s visit to Port Charles is loaded with surprises and one particular moment will leave long-time viewers in shock. So let’s jump right into the General Hospital recap for Wednesday. January 15th.
It begins with Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) showing up at the police station and demanding that Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) get a warrant to arrest Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober).
Joss explains how she believes that Cyrus stabbed Dax Heller (Evan Hofer) at Rice Plaza and convinces Anna to bring Cyrus in for questioning. He is escorted by police from his job at the Metro Court, mid-shift, to chat with Anna. (
They play a bit of verbal cat and mouse, with the supposedly reformed drug lord knowing that he is suspected of something otherwise he wouldn’t be there for questioning. The stabbing of Dax comes up pretty quickly and Anna has Cyrus account for his steps on that particular day.
Anna can’t hold Cyrus and Joss corners him as he attempts to leave. She accuses him of stabbing Dax which Cyrus of course denies. He insists that she is making pointless accusations and wishes everyone peace before he leaves. Anna then tears into Joss because her attack on Cyrus allows him to know exactly what they have on him, so he can quickly try to cover it up.
General Hospital – Liz and Lucky, A Table For Two –
The former couple has teamed up to try and prove that it is Cyrus killing patients in General Hospital with Digitalis. They have a cozy dinner for two at the Metro Court planned to try and catch Cyrus doing something shady while bussing tables.
Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) wants to get close to Cyrus to find out more, something Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson) is very against. Elizabeth believes it is her responsibility to help bring Cyrus down, for the good of her General Hospital patients.
Before the two have a chance to learn anything at all Cyrus is escorted out by the police and brought in for questioning. Still, Lucky convinces Liz to continue their dinner together. It turns into a bit of a battle of the wills and Liz suggests that instead of doing things individually, they learn how to do things “our way.”
After watching things spiral out of control for Drew Quartermaine (Cameron Mathison), Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn)tries to talk some sense into him.
As Scout Quartermaine’s (Cosette Abinante) grandmother, Alexis feels like her needs for stability are being overlooked. Drew makes the point that he and Scout were living at the Quartermaines with her two stepbrothers, until the family found out about his affair with Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) and threw him and his daughter out.
Alexis says that Drew has made some very accurate and valid points but that doesn’t make things stable for Scout. She suggests the temporary solution of allowing Scout to move in with her while Drew figures out his next move, as well as his apartment in DC. Of course, Drew refuses and informs Alexis that Scout is his top priority even if it doesn’t look that way right now.
General Hospital – Carly Needs Jack’s Help, Again –
It is almost hard to remember Carly Spencer’s (Laura Wright) life before she was asking Jack Brennan (Charles Mesure) for help on a daily basis.
This time around she asks him if he has heard of the Bronsky Clinic in St. Petersburg Russia. It has very specific burn treatments that help to heal extreme scarring and she is hoping to get her son, Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell), transferred there. Brennan tells her that the clinic was shut down for unknown reasons and that one of the doctors relocated to Germany, but the chances of getting Michael in there are slim to none.
Carly wears Brennan down and he says that he will see what he can do about getting Michael into the clinic. She says that if he can get Michael accepted then maybe she can convince Willow to let him go. Brennan reminds Carly that he has no contacts at the clinic so he can’t promise her anything.
General Hospital – Lost Money and A Lost Career –
Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) took every dime he had (including the $50 grand Drew had given him) and bet it on the PCU game. He is at the pub with a bunch of people watching the game and he tells Sasha Corbin (Sofia Mattsson) about the bet.
Kai Taylor (Jens Austin Astrup) is the quarterback for PCU and gets knocked down during a play, and doesn’t get back up. Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) has formed a new friendship with Kai and starts screaming from her table when Kai doesn’t get up off of the field. In the end, Kai’s injury is potentially career-ending and Cody has lost all of his money.
General Hospital – Jason Has to Choose A Side, Sonny’s or Monica’s –
Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Bernard) drags his feet to the Quartermaines in the hopes that he can convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) to give him his grandchildren so that he can bring them to Willow. He explains that it is the only way that he, or any of the family can see Michael.
Tracy isn’t having it. She reminds Sonny that he killed AJ Quartermaine years ago and that Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) would also love to see her son, but can’t.
Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) busts in and asks Tracy to please hand over Wylie and Amelia. She says it’s the first time that Jason has ever said please for anything. Tracy says that Monica is worried about Michael too and the only thing bringing her comfort is having his kids nearby.
She tells Jason that the kids are upstairs and Sonny directs him to get them, as Tracy keeps talking. She says that Jason has broken his father’s heart and his grandmother’s heart in the past. She all but begs him not to break his mother’s heart now. She asks him to choose his family over Sonny.
Here’s the shocker, Jason actually chooses his family. He refuses to take the kids away from Monica. Sonny tells them both that this isn’t over and leaves. Once outside he gets extreme pain in his heart and takes one of the pills that he has been prescribed.
Who will end up with the kids for good? Will Michael survive? How long before Cyrus is caught? I guess we’re going to need to tune in to General Hospital tomorrow.
