If there’s one thing we know to expect from the annual Day of Days event — being held this weekend in Los Angeles — it’s that the show will drop a massive promo featuring all kinds of teasers, spoilers and even revelations. Sure enough, this year was no different!

Even before the festivities began, the soap got fans excited by revealing that they’d been renewed by Peacock for yet another year. That renewal will, for those keeping track, keep the show airing through at least its 61st season. (That’s a heck of a lot of sand flowing through the hourglass, right?)

We also knew that big changes are coming down the pike thanks to a change in headwriters. Sure, the show’s super-advanced taping schedule means we won’t see the work of incoming scribes Paula Cwikly and Jeanne Marie Ford until around April. But based on everything we’re hearing from actors, that old saying about good things being worth the wait is proving true.

Although some of the show’s current storylines aren’t proving terribly popular with fans — we’re lookin’ at you, Body and Soul — there’s still plenty to love… especially given some of the huge twists hinted at in the newly-dropped promo.
