It is shaping up to be a heck of a rough year for General Hospital doc TJ. On the heels of Kristina losing the baby that she was carrying for him and Molly — or for herself, depending on whom you ask — and his split from his longtime partner, portrayer Tajh Bellow has apparently been bumped from contract to recurring status with the ABC soap, the closing credits of the February 21 episode confirm. (His name wasn’t in the cast list.)

Of course, that doesn’t mean that we won’t be seeing more of Bellow, who took over the role of Jordan’s son from Tequan Richmond, who came in as a recast for Krys Meyer; it just means that the actor is no longer guaranteed a certain number appearances. It bears mentioning that many a cast member has gone from contract to recurring and back — Kristina Wagner (Felicia), for one.

TJ’s storyline may well pick up in a big way when Molly takes a real interest in someone new. We liked her chemistry with Dex, but, well, the idea of that pairing is as dead as Joss’ poor boyfriend is now. But the soap seems to have been chemistry-testing Molly lately with Cody. And maybe if she starts seeing him just as Drew and Willow implode — please, they’ve gotta right? — the show could capitalize on the sparks between TJ and Michael’s estranged wife.
