Things are looking very iffy for Liam on The Bold and the Beautiful after suffering a brain bleed due to the fall he took after an intense argument with his father Bill. And the worst part is, he is keeping his health prognosis to himself and refuses to let his family in.
In the April 16 episode, Bridget was stunned that Liam wanted to go it alone, but he stood his ground. If he needed rehab, he assured Bridget he’d cross that bridge when he came to it. However, an intracranial hemorrhage is life-threatening so if Liam were to die, not telling his family the truth is in turn not preparing them for what could happen. On top of that, what would it mean for Scott Clifton?
Sure, he could stick around Bold & Beautiful and appear as a ghost from time to time, but that’s not the only option for the actor… He could return to his old stomping grounds on General Hospital.

In fact, today marks the 22nd anniversary of his debut on the ABC soap as Dillon Quartermaine, a role that garnered him Daytime Emmy nominations in 2004, 2005 and 2006 for Outstanding Younger Actor. It was on April 17, 2003, when he took over the role with which he stayed until 2007. Clifton’s Dillon was a huge part of the teen scene back in those days, having been one-half of popular couple Dillon and Georgie.
And while Robert Palmer Watkins stepped into the role in 2015, he’s been off the canvas for some time, so Clifton could easily reprise the character that not only gave him his daytime start but had a fan base of its own. Plus, the stage is perfectly set for Dillon to make tracks back to Port Charles. Mom Tracy is in town, as sharp-tongued as ever. And lost love Lulu Spencer only recently awakened from a coma. Since her former husband Dante Falconeri’s newly minted fiancée Sam McCall was murdered after helping save Lulu’s life, her dance card is pretty clear.

Of course, the smart money is on Bold & Beautiful issuing Liam a last-minute miracle and keeping Clifton around. In recent years, the show has delighted in trying to convince us that characters are doomed or even deceased, only to pull the rug out from under us. They “killed” both Finn Finnegan and his mother, Li, made us believe that Sheila Carter had been sent to hell and even had Eric Forrester go knocking on heaven’s door.
