On today’s General Hospital, Drew finishes an apparently rousing speech after his election win, and is congratulated by Nina, Jordan, Portia and Curtis, and told by Carly that Sam would be proud. Brenna comes over to congratulate the new congressman and Carly introduces the two, before she peels off with Jack.

Shortly after, Willow shows up and smiles at Drew. She says his speech was wonderful, and he says that she pushed him to run. They talk a bit about Sam, and Drew marvels at how well Willow knows him. He’s leaving for Washington after Sam’s funeral, and he’s hoping this will make things easier. Willow awkwardly says she has to find Michael.

GH's Brennan stares at Carly as they chat with red, white and blue balloons behind him

Brennan muses to Carly that Drew’s newfound political connections could be useful for her business. Carly says she doesn’t use her friends, and Brennan points out her asking for a favor. “Sure, but I don’t consider that using people, and I think it’s sad that you do.”  Neither Drew nor she use people.

Brennan needles her a bit about how Drew came back from the dead, an outsider with nothing, started up a relationship with her and now he’s moved on. Look at him now. Carly’s disgusted that that’s how he sees friendships. “A potential asset to be used? Does that mean you’re using me now?”

Maxie arrives after she, Sonny and Natalia finished signing some paperwork over at Aurora. She rushes over to Spinelli, who tells her he has to leave soon — Jason summoned him. Maxie wonders whether he’s leaving for a caper or to offer support. Spinelli admits maybe a bit of both, then Maxie spots Nina and goes to talk to her as Spinelli leaves.

More: Jason and Drew come to blows

“So have you told Willow that you slept with Drew yet?” Nina yanks her away from the crowd and tells her to keep it down. No, nor does she plan to. Willow’s assured her that nothing is or will go on with her and Drew. Plus, he’s leaving town, and he’s going to make an excellent congressman. “Drew made out with his nephew’s wife and slept with her mother,” Maxie points out. That sounds like a politician, Nina shrugs, and Maxie realizes Nina’s still sleeping with him.

At the Brown Dog Bar, Michael spills everything about Willow, him and Drew to Jason, culminating in showing his uncle the video footage. Jason hands Michael’s phone back and Michael says he can’t believe Willow would cheat on him — and he doesn’t think it was a one-time thing. She’s not capable of just a one-night stand.

Michael knows he’s a hypocrite after his own affair, but it still hurts. Jason encourages him to talk to Willow, but Michael’s afraid of what she’ll say. “That she’s in love with Drew.”

Michael leaves and Spinelli shows up. Jason asks if he’s had luck in finding Valentin, then, when he’s told no, says that’s probably because the WSB has their hands in it. Brennan doesn’t want him found. They go over a plan to find some proof that the two former Pikeman bodies have been in contact with each other.

Jason then says he has something he needs to ask Spinelli about, as a father. Danny wants to live with him, but also stay with Scout and Rocco. And that doesn’t work, but he doesn’t want to turn his son down again. What’s best for him, whether or not it hurts?

Back at the campaign party, Portia excitedly tells Curtis how proud she is of him, and he tells her he’s got big plans — and not just for Aurora. As they walk out, Michael walks in, and Drew heads over to greet him. “Just the man I wanted to see.” Drew wants Michael to be Aurora CEO. “Me.” Willow finds him and Michael just tells his uncle that the two need to talk. They agree to meet back home to talk.

GH's Gio has a huge smile on his face as he talks excitedly to Chase

Lois corners Ned at the mansion and demands to know what’s going on. In the kitchen, Gio delivers a package for Sasha, but when she opens it before Chase can stop her, she sees it’s a book on fatherhood. Sasha promises Chase that she won’t tell Brook Lynn she knows they’re trying to get pregnant. But they’ll be great parents with gorgeous kids. Chase thanks her and asks how she’s doing. Holly already left town, so Sasha hopes she took her danger “and everything else” with her. Chase then says he’s sorry about Cody, and tells her the bright side is she’s got a huge new family.

Chase says he heard her new dad took a leave of absence, and Sasha confirms both her parents skipped town together, and she’s kind of glad. It gives her time to get used to the idea of a dad. She then asks about Chase’s own potential fatherhood and if he’s hoping for a boy or a girl. “Yes.”

Brook Lynn enters the living room and Lois pushes her and Ned to know what’s “got everyone acting so funny.” Brook Lynn won’t say: Lois can’t keep a secret. is pushes her and Ned to know what’s “got everyone acting so funny.” Brook Lynn won’t say: Lois can’t keep a secret. As they’re arguing over her inability to keep her mouth shut, Gio walks in at the worst moment and gets yelled at by Lois for sneaking around.

“I wasn’t sneaking anywhere!” Lois accuses him of being “in on it” and Gio promises he knows nothing, then runs away as soon as Brook Lynn leaves. Alone, Lois eyes up Ned, who asks her to just drop it. For the family. “Fine.”

GH's Chase looks awkwardly off to the side

Brook Lynn heads into the kitchen to find Sasha and Chase with his book on first-time fatherhood. He admits that “due to a little mixup, Sasha knows we’re trying.” Brook Lynn shrugs it off, then when Sasha leaves says Chase doesn’t need a book to learn how to be a great father.

Left back at Aurora, Natalia talk about Kristina and Alison. Natalia admits she would have reacted very differently and more controlling if she’d gotten a call from Alison about an accident. She happily reflects on Alison’s childhood, saying she used to sing everywhere when she was little, and Natalia immediately started making big plans for her, not thinking that her daughter would have dreams of her own.

“I finally realized that the more you try to control your kids, the quicker you lose them.” Sonny agrees — you have to be there for them when they ask for help. But it’s not easy, especially with Kristina. She’s the most like Sonny’s mom, “Who was too good for this earth.” Everything good in him is from his mother. He had a great mom, and Kristina also sees the best in everyone.

Sonny laments his mom didn’t deserve what she got, or the horrible men she felt trapped with. Natalia points out that that’s where Kristina’s definitely different from Sonny’s mom. She’s tough and doesn’t put up with anything.

More: A major Yellowstone tragedy

Kristina shows up at Alexis’ office, asking if she’s OK. She haltingly tells her mom about the accident, saying she was blinded by grief, but she was fine and Sonny got her and let her spend the night. “You told your dad?” Yeah, Kristina admits, and he’s the one who said she shouldn’t hide this from her mom. “Couldn’t agree with him more.”

Kristina then admits she wished she had something to occupy her mind like her mom does with work. Alexis asks what she can do to help, and after some prompting, Kristina tells her all she’s been worrying about, culminating with: “Why did I live and Sam die?”

Alexis says Sam would never wish it was her and not her sister. “What I do know is Sam died, and you didn’t.” She’s there, so don’t waste it. Kristina thinks she’s already wasted far more than Sam ever did. Alexis tells her firmly: “You matter. Your life matters.” She matters so much to Alexis, and she needs her. But she needs to know if the accident was an actual accident.

Kristina assures her she wasn’t trying to hurt herself.

In the show’s final moments, Chase suggests they take things upstairs — along with his spiffy new book.

Portia wants to hear about Curtis’ big plans, and he tells her how he wants to start a music program for kids at the community center. Brennan says he’s only asked for one favor because lives were at stake, and all else he wants is the pleasure of her company. Carly spits back that men like him don’t ask, they lie and trick, and Jack counters that he doesn’t know if she’s using him. “I guess you don’t.”

More: General Hospital’s surprise double exit

Natalia tells Sonny Kristina’s lucky to have him as a father, and they both marvel at how forgiving she is. And Natalia says her resiliency comes from Sonny. Kristina says her newfound purpose in life is to get justice for her daughter from Ava. Alexis is a bit aghast that that’s it.

Maxie urges Nina to stop this, because she doesn’t want to see her get hurt. When Nina says Drew can’t hurt her, Maxie insists that’s not what she meant. Drew comes upon them and wants Nina to find the list of donors, so they head home.

Willow gets home and wants to know what Michael wants to talk about. Back at the mansion, Drew and Nina talk about how the hard part, governing, is yet to come. As they walk in they see Jason standing silently in the entryway. “Hello?” Drew asks.
