Emma reveals that she’s not here for a visit, she’s transferring to Port Charles University and moving into the dorms. This definitely catches Anna by surprise! She questions: What happened to Emma’s incredible internship? And why didn’t Robin call to tell her? Emma explains there’s been an awful lot going on, including having a new aunt in Sasha. Anna seems more than a little skeptical of Emma’s explanations… especially when the young woman wants to talk about anything to prevent them from reaching out to Robin. (Proving a tad tactless, she even asks Sasha what it was like dating Cody. Awkward!)
Sasha talks about how much she enjoys working for the Q’s because they are a close family. Sure, they rip each other apart on a regular basis, but at the end of the day, they are there for one another. Felicia says family accepts you, warts and all, clearly hoping this will prompt Emma to open up. That effort proves unsuccessful, and everyone slowly says goodnight. Sasha tells Maxie she likes having a big family, but she has some decisions to make before she reveals to everyone she’s pregnant.
Brook Lynn presents Chase with the best Christmas gift ever: a pregnancy test! They nervously wait for the test results and imagine celebrating their as-yet-unconfirmed child’s first Christmas next year. But it turns out that they aren’t actually expecting. “We’re gonna keep trying,” says Chase, pulling her in for a hug. She sinks into a depression, wondering why it is that she can’t get pregnant. He suggests they’re putting too much pressure on themselves, and both agree to get tested to make sure there aren’t any problems. “I know in my heart that you are meant to be a mother,” Chase insists. Ultimately, he says that as much as he wants to have kids with her, he’s also very much enjoying having her to himself.
Brennan and Joss bond while playing a game, which thrills Carly. After all, it’s taking the young woman’s mind off everything. Jason, however, is having none of it where the WSB head is concerned. But Carly fears that Joss losing Dex so unexpectedly will have a negative impact on the young woman. While talking with her mom and Brennan about how they brought Lucky home, Joss seems to notice the sparks flying between them. She also impresses Brennan with her knowledge of stripmining.
Joss admits she once wanted to save the world, but in the wake of Dex’s death, it seems foolish. Brennan, however, tries to help her see that one person can make a difference. “The right push in the right place at the right time can have a huge effect on a person’s future, on a country’s future… sometimes, even the whole world’s future.”
Joss eventually gets tired and heads upstairs, leaving Brennan and Carly alone. She thanks him for being so kind to Josslyn. “She’s a formidable young woman,” he says. “Never underestimate her, or her mother.” They wish one another a Merry Christmas, and it is painfully obvious they want to kiss. Instead, however, he wanders away as Carly looks to the sky and snow begins to fall.
Talking to Jason, Michael tries to accept his share of the blame for what went down with Willow. Not surprisingly, Jason would much rather blame Drew. Michael insists what Willow wants is a hero, and that Drew’s actions make him seem like that, even though both agree he’s actually a slimeball. “I don’t want to punish Willow,” Michael insists, “but if Drew’s who she really wants, maybe I should just let her go.”
Jason says Michael should fight for what he wants, suggesting Willow doesn’t know what she wants and that there’s more than one kind of hero. “You’re trying to find the good in a woman who picked up your children and left!” Jason says Willow should see the good man she has as opposed to turning to Drew. Michael admits he wants Willow back, but if they can’t make it work, he will fight for the kids.
At Nina’s place, she tells Ava she’s looking forward to Drew leaving… only for Willow to announce she’s asked him to stay for a while. That whole “more the merrier” thing definitely doesn’t turn out to be true when Lucas shows up to say Wiley should be with Michael. After all, he says he didn’t rip his own heart out to hand over the child so Willow could keep him from his dad. Lucas insists he’s not questioning her love for Wiley, but rather her actions. “How is sleeping with Michael’s uncle what’s best for your children?” He says that their emotions don’t excuse their complete lack of integrity. Things very quickly get heated.

Lucas points out that everyone in the room can relate to the pain of being separated from a child. Willow blasts him for comparing her to Nelle, which Lucas says wasn’t his intention. Eventually, he leaves. Nina insists to Willow that they need to go on the offensive if she wants to keep the children. Willow doesn’t want the kids to get caught up in a nasty battle, but Nina and Drew insist fighting is the only way to handle this. “No one is going to take away your children,” insists Nina.
Willow wonders if her life is now going to be all about being judged by others. Drew says that despite being a Congressman, he’s not going to hide his feelings for her. “I can’t believe we found each other,” he says, and they wind up sharing a hug as Nina watches, a seemingly disapproving look on her face.
Ava follows Lucas to Rice Plaza and says she understands the pain he’s feeling. “There were days I didn’t think I’d survive losing Kiki,” she says. But she adds that they are Jeromes, and they’re tough. Lucas wonders if he’s also his own worst enemy, making the whole situation worse. Ava believes that Willow sees Drew through rose-colored glasses. “Nobody should have to go through that,” says Ava, reminded that she and Sonny have been fighting over Avery since the day the child was born. Even Michael doesn’t deserve that.

Sonny and Laura talk about the search for Charlotte. Meanwhile, Dante and Rocco prepare to celebrate their first Christmas in four years with Lulu, unaware that she’s jetting off to Prague to reconnect with her other child, Charlotte. Only after comparing notes with Laura does Dante realize that they’ve both received texts from Lulu saying she was spending the night at the other’s place. They quickly realize that Lulu has gone after her daughter, and Rocco admits that Charlotte reached out to him. Dante says he’s going to go to the airport and try to find Lulu. (Laura, hilariously, says “it’s a big airport.” Which it must be, given that the Port Charles airport seems to have direct flights to Prague!)
At the airport awaiting her flight, Lulu winds up bonding with Brennan’s badly-accented female associate, Colette. She calls her boss, and they discuss that she “knows what to do” once Lulu leads them to Charlotte and, by extension, Valentin.
Alone with her dad in Rice Plaza, Kristina becomes lost in memories of holidays past. Despite fearing that the lighting of the tree would leave her feeling empty this year, she says Sonny helped her hold on to the magic of the season. They later head to Sonny’s home, where they discuss the future of Charlie’s. He explains he gave her the bar because it was a big part of his dad, and he wants it to stay in the family. Kristina reveals she watched the Nurses Ball online when Sonny and Max performed, and she wept like a baby. (Way to remind us that we didn’t get a Nurses Ball this year!)

Sonny says he never wants his kids to forget how important they are to him and that he’ll always be in their corner. Kristina thanks him for having helped her get through this incredibly difficult year. When she goes to bed, he turns out the light… and then seems to clutch his chest as if feeling a twinge of pain.
On the plane, as Lulu looks at a picture of Charlotte and says they’ll be reunited soon, Colette sits several rows behind her…
