On today’s Days of Our Lives, we pick up from Friday, with Tate rushing home after learning the news of John missing. He and Brady come together, just as Theresa walks in the open front door — she’s out of jail! The guys are stunned (and a little worried), but Theresa assures them she didn’t break out, her release date just got moved up.

Tate rushes over to hug her while Brady watches without comment. He fills Theresa in on John missing — and that her dad and brother are trying to find him. “I’m so sorry that you’re going through this,” she says sincerely, then gives him a hug. Theresa tries assuring Tate that the Donovans will find Grandpa John, then asks how he and Holly are doing.

When Tate hesitates, Theresa asks a little too eagerly, “Did you guys break up??” That’s when Brady mentions the baby. “What baby??” Tate never told her mom about the baby, and she’s even more horrified to think Holly’s pregnant. Tate corrects her that Sophia’s the pregnant one and Brady heads to the kitchen to leave them to it.

Just as Theresa’s thinking she’s going to be a grandmother, Tate tells her they’re planning on giving the baby up for adoption. But Sophia’s mother vetoed it. “Of course she did,” Theresa tells her son. “Why wouldn’t she?”

Melinda Doesn’t Want to Help Doug

Holly tells Doug she and Tate got into a fight, then they move onto wondering who Doug’s meeting to get the necklace back. That’s when Melinda sweeps in, brushes her hair back and shows off the necklace that “goes so perfectly with my ensemble!” Holly’s shocked to see Melinda Trask.

Doug asks how she knows this woman and Holly lays out Melinda’s role in Sloan’s baby swap scheme. Before Melinda can storm off after being “attacked,” Doug stops her and begs her to stay, laying out what happened. He and Holly lay on the guilt to get the necklace back, but while she’s “touched,” Melinda says none of it is her problem.

Holly promises to pay Melinda well above what she paid, which is when the former DA catches on that Holly’s got a thing for Doug. But none of that matters because she’ll never get a necklace as gorgeous as what she paid, so bye.

Jada Fills Rafe In On Everything

Rafe’s in a hospital when Jada comes to check on him, both over the moon with happiness to be back together. Kayla told Rafe that outside of his memory loss, he’s the perfect picture of health. Jada can’t wait to get that memory back so they can nail EJ. Kayla’s not sure it will ever come back, so Rafe cautiously asks how long he’s been gone.

Jada estimates it’s been about three months. He’s shocked, but they just double down on working the “case.” Jada lays out everything she knows of him and Arnold, and Rafe vows that this is the last time EJ does anything like this again. He just doesn’t know why it happened again.

Jada explains it was to get revenge on her — and bring it all to fruition on their wedding day, no less. She knows EJ was behind everything. He destroyed her life, then congratulates Rafe on being commissioner again. Rafe takes it all in. “I am so sorry.” Without Arnold and Rafe’s memory, Jada’s worried they won’t be able to make EJ pay. Rafe will make sure he does, and starts getting out of bed, despite Jada’s protestations.

Kristen Can’t Find Rachel

Back at the DiMera mansion, EJ’s talking openly to Rita on the phone about Rafe and his memory loss. He hears Kristen calling for her mom and cheerily greets her, only to be told Rachel’s already missing. Worse, her release was contingent on Kristen keeping an eye on her. “Well, you’re doing a bang up job of that,” EJ snipes.

Kristen searches the house, but finds no trace of her mom, so EJ asks if it’s possible Rachel went home. Maybe, Kristen muses, but her mom was awfully preoccupied with getting her and Brady back together. Oh. What if she didn’t mean what she said about behaving? Rachel’s kind and gentle but a bit off. So she may have.

She tries calling Ava, but gets no answer, so she runs off to find her mom. EJ just shakes his head as she leaves.

Ava Finds Rachel — Unfortunately!

Ava gets back to her room, not seeing Rachel behind her door. Kristen’s kooky mom shuts the door, saying she’s paying “a friendly little visit.” Ava tries talking her into leaving, but Rachel wants to tell her about the rude people in jail she met because of Ava.

Ava tries explaining to Rachel that she’s the one who didn’t press charges and Rachel’s free because of her. It seems to work, but as Rachel’s walking back towards the door, she whips a knife out of… somewhere. Kristen told her to back off of Ava, but she has to listen to her heart, not her daughter. She has to make up for lost time.

Ava snaps at the Woman In White as she gets closer and closer with the knife: “You think you can take me on? I used to run a mafia organization!” That just gets the knife dangerously close to her throat. Just then the phone rings as Kristen calls, and Ava uses the distraction to bat the knife away, only to get sliced as Rachel fights back.

The DiMeras Are In Hot Water

In the show’s final moments, Kristen rushes in begging her mom to give her the knife and not go back to prison. She pulls it from Rachel’s hand, and the Woman In White drops to the bed, sobbing. Brady comes in as Ava’s yelling at Kristen about nearly getting her hand cut off and asks what’s going on.

Rafe barges into the DiMera mansion and demands EJ tell him what he did. EJ’s more annoyed than anything, until Rafe wraps his hands around EJ’s neck and starts choking him as Jada tries to get him to stop. She pulls them apart and snaps at a grateful EJ that she’s just trying to protect Rafe. Rafe gets right into EJ’s face, telling him they all know he’s behind this, “And you are NOT going to get away with it.”

Theresa tells her son that adoptions can go horribly wrong, like with Kristen, or Aunt Eve being abandoned, getting more and more upset as she talks. But she calms down and just tells Tate that she doesn’t want this for her grandchild.

Holly apologizes to Doug for ticking off Trask, then assures Doug that they are getting the necklace back, one way or another.
