Let’s face it: Liam’s been adrift ever since he and Hope split on The Bold and the Beautiful. Her star took off (and admittedly crashed back to Earth) once she and Carter got together. Liam’s, though… didn’t.

Ivy returned, seemingly still in love with Liam, but we’re not even sure he knows she’s in town! (Not that we’ve seen her in ages, either.) For a time, we thought he’d be drawn back to Steffy, but she’s had her hands full with Finn’s endless family drama. And worse, that drama’s spread to Liam — and cost him one of his few remaining ties to Los Angeles.

He’s been having a, let’s just say, tough time with the fact that Bill secured Luna’s release and pardon after she killed two men and kidnapped Steffy. In fact, he hasn’t been able to let this go, despite his father telling him in no uncertain terms that he had zero interest in Liam’s opinion.

It all culminated in yesterday’s episode when Bill threatened to fire his son, so Liam beat him to the punch. “I quit.”

And now? Well, what’s left for Liam? He doesn’t have love keeping him in town. He’s got virtually no personal life. If he just tossed his job aside and is turning his back on his father, what now?

We’re not quite sure what’s left for him and that’s got us worried that he’ll soon go the way of his brother, Wyatt, and disappear. But there’s still hope.

For one thing, Will looks set for a triangle much like the Hope/Liam/Steffy one, and if anyone could offer him advice on how to navigate it, it’s his big brother. Granted, with how wishy washy Liam’s always been, we don’t know that it’ll be good advice, but it’s there.

And he’s out at Spencer Publications, but Liam’s worked at Forrester before. Surely Steffy would be up for giving the man she shares a child with a job. And that could open the two of them back up to yet another love connection — especially if things turn sour with Finn and Luna.

Is this it for Liam? It doesn’t have to be. But time will tell if Liam’s severance goes beyond Spencer Publications. (As it is, it looks like he might be… No. Could Liam be dead?!?)
