Bold & Beautiful Shocker: Steffy’s Going Down in Flames Thanks to Hope and Carter’s Revenge Scheme!
Bold & Beautiful Shocker: Steffy’s Going Down in Flames Thanks to Hope and Carter’s Revenge Scheme!
This was yet another week where four days were spent largely discussing one topic — Hope being fired — only for Bold & Beautiful‘s writers to drop a bombshell during Friday’s episode. Meanwhile, we got some very adorable Will/Electra stuff, and the stage was set for her past to have its mail forwarded to her present. What worked, what didn’t? Let’s discuss…
Walk Away, Ladies
Kenny Rogers (not, as I originally wrote, Willie Nelson) once sang, “You’ve gotta know when to hold ’em, know when to fold ’em. Know when to walk away… and know when to run.” With that in mind, riddle me this: Why haven’t Katie, Brooke and Donna walked away from Forrester? At this point, I think even Eric would get behind that decision, given that he has long supported the Logan sisters. This week, we saw Katie kinda sorta briefly defend niece Hope’s name and reputation before hustling down to the showroom in order to chat with Will about his love life. Meanwhile, Brooke has been verbally battered by Steffy as Ridge basically stood by and watched.

We’ve been told time and again that the Logan women played a huge role in the history of Forrester Creations. They’ve talked the talk, now it’s time for them to walk the walk… right out the door. All Katie and Brooke have to do is head on over to the offices of their mutual ex, Bill, and suggest he help them launch a fashion house that will compete with Forrester. Trust me, Bill will throw money at them if it means A) getting another shot with either/both Katie and Brooke; or B) sticking it to “the dressmaker” (aka Ridge).
Also, this is a personal dream story I pitch at every opportunity. I mean, come on… what longtime Bold & Beautiful fan doesn’t miss the good old “fashion war” days between Forrester and the original Spectra Fashions? Or when we had Jackie and her crew putting on sexy fashion shows that kinda put Brooke’s Bedroom line to shame.
But then, everything changed on Friday.
And Just Like That…
I know this show and it’s lack of subtlety. So I definitely should have picked up on the fact that Carter dropped that LLC into several conversations. Yet I was pretty darn shocked when he and Hope realized they could use the document to take over Forrester Creations.

Now, do I really think it would be that easy? No. But I’m not a lawyer and everything I know about the business world I learned by watching Succession. And all that really taught me was some really, really creative ways to use obscenities. In any case, the scenes for next week indicate that Carter’s basically going to give Steffy one last chance, and it’s pretty clear that she’s going to stand by her decision. So I’ve got three words for next week’s episodes: Bring. Them. On!
Boss Rhymes-With-Witch
Not gonna lie, I love Steffy in full-blown boss mode. Jacqueline MacInnes Wood plays it to perfection. (And can I just say that it shows what a strong actress she is, given that in real life, she’s absolutely nothing like her often-bitchy alter ego!)

Never has Steffy been more like her namesake grandma, Steffy, than during this current story. Heck, I half expect her to start going around slapping people with impunity, which was one of Stephanie’s favorite tricks. (Don’t remember? Check out the video below… )
Until Next Week…
Remember how earlier I mentioned that this show has fallen into a bad habit of making Friday the only day on which anything happens? Well, the other big development at the end of this week was Bill receiving another letter from locked-up Luna.
It was kind of creative, having the prisoner write that she’s only allowed to send one letter a week. That works perfectly with the show’s “Must-See Friday” approach to storytelling. But what were we to make of Bill’s reaction to her latest missive? He went to burn it, then stopped, recalled their past liplock and looked pensive before finally crumbling the letter up. Are we to get from this that Bill is feeling something for the young woman whom he thought to be his daughter?
Heaven knows Bold & Beautiful likes to keep things in the family, so it’s entirely possible!
Missing In Action
I’m so happy to have Ivy back on canvas, but why aren’t we seeing her spend time with Liam? The last time she swung through town, Ivy made it very clear that she was still interested in Liam, and they even shared a kiss.
I get that the real reason Ivy (and portrayer Ashleigh Brewer) were brought back was to introduce her niece, Electra. But why ignore a previously established couple with killer history, especially given that Liam is woefully unused of late.
Meanwhile, using the promotion of the jewelry line as a way to put Electra on the radar of a clearly obsessed man — fan or ex, we don’t yet know — was smart. It helped that they had Electra talk about how, despite the prevalence of social media in modern society, she’s done everything possible to erase her digital footprint.
Is it a little early in the development of the Will/Electra relationship to throw danger into the mix? Probably. But Crew Morrow and Laneya Grace are beyond adorable, so I’m good with putting them front-and-center for a while.
Random Thoughts
• When this show’s writers get a word stuck in their head, it ain’t hard to tell. Tuesday, it was “heart.” which was spoken 50 times if it was spoken once.
• I liked this week’s Taylor/Brooke scenes, but they seemed to indicate that yup, the brunette is ready to pursue Ridge again. Maybe Taylor should spend less time analyzing Hope’s behavior and more looking in the mirror. Doctor, heal thyself.
