At Forrester, Ridge tells Carter he deceived a lot of people. If he drops this right now, they can find a way to pretend it never happened. “It’s your last chance. I suggest you take it.” Eric agrees. Carter and Justin can reverse what’s in the paperwork and they can all move on. Ridge points out if the company is tied up in litigation, nothing is going to happen. Carter doesn’t want that, and for Ridge to extend this olive branch says a lot. He wants the company to move forward as a place where everyone feels appreciated. “I’m doing this for us.” He believes in being bold and that’s the company he’s heading. That’s the company he’s officially in charge of, “The new Forrester Creations.”
In the cabin, Brooke sighs over Carter’s “out and out mutiny”. Steffy and Ridge had no way of knowing they were signing away the company and that the COO was acting in bad faith. Hope says he wasn’t; it’s the best thing for Forrester. Brooke doesn’t understand how he can look Ridge and Steffy in the eye, rip their company out from under them, and live with themselves after it. Brooke has had no messages from Ridge, so assumes that Carter didn’t go through with the coup. She tells Hope there were other ways to push back. Two wrongs don’t make a right. Hope asks if Carter should continue to let the Forresters push anyone aside who stands up to them. Brooke argues this isn’t standing up to them; it’s an all-out assault. Hope tells her to stop. She will not step aside after Carter has risked everything for the Logans. “I love him, mom. And yes, sure, maybe we didn’t go about doing things in the best way possible, but Carter is not going to back down. Nor should he.”
At the jail, Luna doesn’t know who that person who did the murders was. Bill says it certainly wasn’t the sweet girl he welcomed into his home. Luna recaps that she’s locked up away from everyone who loved her. That’s why she kept writing him letters and asking him to come visit her. Now he’s there; it’s almost too good to be true. Bill tells her that reading her letters was against his better judgment. Luna knows she has no right to ask for his forgiveness for understanding, but if anyone can understand the lengths she went to, it’s him.

Bill recaps that Luna thinks he has some sort of special insight. She says she’s told him things she hasn’t told anyone. She goes over growing up with Poppy and her drugs and never-ending string of men. Bill says a lot of people have traumatic childhoods and they rise above it. Luna guesses she didn’t have the strength. Bill says she was well on her way. She had a good job at Forrester and a boyfriend who adored her. Luna says when he turned out not to be her father, she and it was all threatened, she snapped. She senses he doesn’t hate her and pleads with him not to.
In the cabin, Hope and Brooke rehash that Steffy firing her is what put Hope and Carter in this position. Hope thinks he’s courageous for standing up to them. Brooke complains that she’s making it sound like they are the enemy, but currently they are under attack. Hope argues they’re to blame for that because of their unprofessionalism. Brooke wishes she’d come to her first. Hope wishes she’d come to her before she ran to Ridge. Brooke exclaims that a hostile takeover is not the way to address her concerns! Hope says the takeover is happening and she will be there for Carter every step of the way.
At Forrester, Eric hollers, “This is the definition of arrogance. That you think you can run this company better than the people who founded it?! Who turned it into the powerhouse it is!” Carter is doing this for Forrester. Justin states that the LLC is the controlling entity of Forrester Creations now. “I’m sorry.” Ridge exclaims, “This guy is stealing our company and you’re sorry?!” Carter says he’s not stealing anything. Eric hollers, “I founded this company! It’s in my DNA. It’s in their DNA too!” Carter is sure the company will emerge from this stronger than ever, and urges them to believe that as he does.

At the jail, Luna reminds Bill of the long talks they had when her mother was in prison. He reached out to her and tried to relate to her by telling her about his own troubled past. His father abandoned him and his mother had loose morals. They have a lot in common. Luna complains that she’s alone now and has been abandoned by everyone, “Except maybe you.” Bill’s sure Poppy still sees her as her child. Luna says she feels she failed her, so much so that she wonders if she’ll ever come back. But he’s there… the man who showed her warmth and compassion. She did the unthinkable to hold onto that. “Maybe I don’t have to stay lost, Bill. Maybe there’s still hope for me… with your help.”
In the cabin, Hope knows Brooke is disappointed in her, and Carter too. But she believes he’s the man Forrester needs right now. She feels lucky to have him by her side. Brooke’s worried about what may or may not be going on at Forrester right now. She wants to go see for herself. Hope grabs her purse and says she’ll go with her. Carter deserves to have someone in his corner.

At Forrester, Eric rails that this is a power grab. Steffy accuses Carter of sabotaging them. Carter says he’s not, “Ridge you can still design.” Ridge sarcastically exclaims, “Oh, I can?! Thank you, Carter! With you and Hope in charge?!” Carter says Hope will be busy re-establishing her line. He will still rely on Steffy to help him run the day-to-day as they’ve been doing. Eric asks, “Do I get to do anything?!” Ridge isn’t going along with it. Carter informs him he has no choice but to accept this.
At the jail, Luna tells Bill if anyone can understand why she did what she did, it’s him. Bill doesn’t know what to say to her. Luna knows she’s being presumptuous, but she can see in his eyes the pain they share. They can help each other out. The guard comes in and says, “Time’s up.” Luna pleads with Bill not to give up on her and to please come back. “I need you!” He walks out.

At Forrester, Eric reminds Carter they embraced him at this company. He even forgave his betrayal with Quinn. Ridge asks how he does this to his dad, of all people. Carter says it’s not personal. Steffy knows he doing it to bring back Hope. Carter admits that’s part of it. But the company is dysfunctional and needs someone impartial to run it. Steffy and Ridge scoff at this; this is all about Hope! Hope and Brooke arrive outside the office and listen as Ridge hollers at Carter that they’re not friends, “You’re a traitor!” He tells him he doesn’t care about him, the family, or the company. All he cares about is Hope. “All of this is beneath you.” Steffy says it’s not beneath Hope. Carter tells her to stop talking about Hope. Ridge yells that if Carter’s determined to throw his life away, he’s not going to stop him. “I’m outta here!” Brooke and Hope disperse as he whips the door open. Ridge stops short, “Oh, there she is. The great Hope Logan. You happy? Are you happy about what you did to Forrester? Are you happy about the way you manipulated Carter?” Brooke intervenes, “Please! Don’t talk to my daughter like that.” Ridge continues, “You know what you are? You’re a nasty little bitch.” Carter booms, “Enough!” Stepping up to Ridge he warns, “Don’t you ever speak to Hope like that again.”
