Well, we’d say that Johnny and Chanel’s meeting with Amy Choi on today’s Days of Our Lives went about as expected, but honestly, we thought they’d at least make it past the hors d’oeuvres before everything fell apart. Alas, not even Chanel’s church lady look could distract Amy from the reality of their families once Jada and Gabi barged in and cursed out EJ. (You can read the full recap here). That just nailed the coffin shut on any hopes Johnny and Chanel had of adopting Tate and Sophia’s baby.

But that’s not all Jada and Gabi’s accusations towards EJ did. They also infuriated Johnny. He remembers the last time EJ brought Arnold to town and raped his mom, Sami. EJ may have protested that he’s had nothing to do with kidnapping Rafe or switching him with Arnold, but it’s clear Johnny doesn’t trust his dad. Nor should he, since we all know EJ’s lying through his teeth!

The thing is, this crime is a double blow to Johnny, who grew up with Rafe as his father and still very much loves him. Then there’s the memory of how Arnold hurt Sami. As Johnny made clear to EJ, if he finds out his dad’s lying, he will never, ever forgive him for doing this again. But on top of that, Johnny also dropped another worrying line: If this is all true, EJ would never see Johnny, Chanel or their family ever again.

That’s tough to do in a town like Salem, where everyone’s constantly running into each other. And maybe that’s why half the people EJ hurts tend to leave town. Just look at Nicole, Eric and Sami.

As with every secret on Days of Our Lives, this one isn’t a matter of if it will come out, but when. And if, when Johnny learns his dad not only did these horrible things, but lied to his face about it, he follows through on his threat, that could mean he and Chanel packing up and leaving Salem. They almost did before. And we all know Johnny’s film-making dreams will never truly come to fruition in Salem.
