EJ Is In A Medically Induced Coma

Fans of DOOL are aware that EJ is currently in a medically induced coma, battling to recover from a gunshot wound. However, Dan Feuerriegel is not departing from Days, which means it’s only a matter of time before EJ regains consciousness and confronts the police’s inquiries.

What will unfold once EJ shares his account of the events-will he be honest about what transpired that night, or could he mislead the Salem PD?

If the writers of Days choose to extend this storyline further, EJ might assert that the wrong person is responsible for the crime. There are several motivations that could drive EJ to take such a step.

EJ Could Have Been Dosed With The Amnesia Drug

To begin with, there’s a chance that EJ has received or will receive a dose of the memory-altering drug, which could leave him unable to recall who fired the shot. Given the coma and all that EJ has endured, it’s also likely that his amnesia could occur naturally.

Regardless of the circumstances, EJ might suspect that someone like Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) is responsible for the shooting and choose to blame an adversary instead of his own son.

Even if EJ can’t remember who attacked him, he might falsely assert that he does in order to mislead the police. If EJ’s memories return gradually, that could also have an impact on the situation.

EJ Might Put The Wrong Puzzle Pieces Together

EJ could potentially misplace the puzzle pieces and wrongfully accuse an innocent person of the crime. On the other hand, it’s also possible that EJ knows exactly who the real culprit is but decides to keep that information to himself.

EJ could easily choose an adversary from the likes of Gabi Hernandez (Cherie Jimenez), Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering), or any other names on the suspect list. Potentially, he could  launch some unfounded claims after he regains consciousness from his coma.
