Days Of Our Lives Spoilers: What Were DOOL's Wildest Storylines Ever?

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers and updates reveal that the show has had some pretty wild storylines over the years. As it enters its 60th season, let’s take a look back and remember them; the wildest Days of Our Lives storylines ever!

Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – Princess Gina Von Amberg And Her Doppelganger

Stefano DiMera (Joseph Mascolo), the resident villain, was causing trouble for Salem’s beloved residents during the Princess Gina storyline in the late 1990s.

He used the talented artist Princess Gina Von Amberg (Kristian Alfonso) to help him steal valuable artworks with John Black (Drake Hogestyn), known as “The Pawn.”

Gina fell in love with John, who has one of the wildest character journeys on the show, but Stefano tricked her into believing he was dead.

Heartbroken, Gina stopped painting for Stefano, and he imprisoned her at her chateau in France. Stefano continued the art theft operation by abducting Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso), a lookalike believed to be dead.

DOOL Spoilers – Stefano Kept Up The Scam Using Hope And John

Stefano used a computer chip to transfer Gina’s memories and personality into her. Hope and John — who was very much alive — pressed on with their plan.

Enraged, the genuine Gina abducted Stefano and Hope, then made her way to Salem, masquerading as Hope after undergoing extensive plastic surgery. Her goal was to reclaim John from Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall).

However, it was evident that John’s heart belonged to Marlena, prompting Gina to shift her attention to Hope’s husband, Bo Brady (Peter Reckell).

Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – The Plan Continues

Hope’s teenage son, Shawn-Douglas Brady (now Brandon Beemer), was never fully convinced that the new woman in his life was really his mother.

On the night of Gina and Bo’s wedding, Gina attempted to shoot Shawn-Douglas-Marlena stopped her, and Bo got involved, resulting in a struggle for the gun.

In the chaos, Gina was shot and killed, while Hope and Stefano were eventually saved; however, Stefano’s plans were not over.

In 2012, he activated a chip that transformed Hope back into Gina and after Stefano’s death Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (then William Utay) switched Hope back to “Gina” mode in 2019.

Additionally, Princess Gina’s daughter, Greta Von Amberg (Julianne Morris), had a notable storyline as “Swamp Girl” during the show’s run.

DOOL Spoilers- Carly Manning Was Buried Alive

This revenge story is one of the most unsettling. Carly Manning (Crystal Chappell) found herself in Salem, but it was far from a peaceful time. After falling for Bo, Carly started having nightmares about a child she thought had died long ago.

Vivian Alamain (Louise Sorel) had told her that the baby was born with too much fluid on the brain. Later, Carly and Bo discovered that the child was alive and had been secretly adopted by Vivian.

To keep her adopted son Nicholas Alamain (Erik Von Detten), Vivian went to extreme measures, including drugging Carly and putting her into a coma.

Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – Vivian Faked Carly’s Death And Put Her In A Coffin

In 1993, Carly was given herbs that made her look dead and was buried in a special coffin.

When she woke up from her coma, she found herself alive in the coffin, which had oxygen tanks and a radio transmitter. This allowed Vivian to mock her while her oxygen supply dwindled.

Vivian eventually realized that the heart medication she was taking was affecting her mind and, with the help of her servant Ivan Marais (Ivan G’Vera), she dug Carly up just in time.

Years later, Vivian also buried Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) alive, but she only pushed her into an empty grave that had just been dug.

DOOL Spoilers – Sami Brady Disguises Herself As A Man

Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) has been a favorite troublemaker in Salem for many years, always plotting something.

She once attempted to sell her sister Belle Black (Martha Madison) on the black market and even drugged and slept with her sister Carrie Brady’s (Christie Clark) boyfriend.

After being found in bed with Brandon Walker (Matt Cedeño) the night before her wedding to Lucas Roberts (Bryan Dattilo) and having no memory of it, Sami was frantic.

However, one of her plans went too far-she was determined to show that Lucas’ mother, Kate, who had always disapproved of their relationship, had set her up.

Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – Stan The Man

Sami cleverly used makeup and a voice changer to become a man named Stan (Dan Wells), causing chaos in Salem before making her way to Iraq. There, she assisted in rescuing soldier Philip Kiriakis (then Kyle Brandt) Lucas’ half-brother.

She managed to reveal that Kate had drugged her the night before her wedding, but in a twist, Kate retaliated by exposing Sami’s alter ego as Stan.

Although it was later discovered that Tony DiMera (Thaao Penghlis) orchestrated the Stan scheme, Lucas turned away from Sami. Then his other half-brother Austin Reed (Austin Peck) arrived to help her heal from the betrayal.

DOOL Spoilers – MarDevil!

One of the most unforgettable storylines took place in the mid-1990s, when the beloved psychiatrist and mother, Marlena, became possessed by the devil. Her soul became weak after Stefano sneaked into her home at night, trying to brainwash her into loving him.

Instead, his plan failed, and Marlena ended up possessed by Satan, famously levitating above her bed on Christmas Eve with frightening yellow eyes while under Lucifer’s influence.

Her soul was rescued when Father John Black, who thought he was a priest at that time, performed an exorcism.

In 2021, Days of Our Lives revisited this iconic plot, featuring the Devil switching bodies and possessing several characters in Salem before being ultimately defeated.

Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – The Gemini Twins

In 2002, the made-up town of Salem appeared to welcome some visitors from another world.

The story began when teenagers Belle Black (then Kirsten Storms) and Shawn Douglas Brady (then Jason Cook) were on a romantic date, when they saw a strange object land nearby.

Two figures emerged, dressed in silver and speaking no English-thinking they were aliens, Belle and Shawn decided to help them.

These figures were later revealed to be the Gemini Twins, who were not aliens but genetically modified humans.

Eventually, it was assumed that the twins, now called Cassie Brady (Alexis Thorpe) and Rex Brady (Kyle Lowder), were actually the children of Tony DiMera (played by Thaao Penghlis) and Marlena.

DOOL Spoilers – The Gemini Twins’ True Parentage Revealed

However, it was ultimately discovered later that Rex and Cassie weren’t Tony and Marlena’s, and Stefano had been up to his old tricks again.

The revelation came that the twins’ actual biological parents were Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) and Kate, and were conceived from Kate’s egg and Roman’s sperm.

Stefano then created embryos through in vitro fertilization. Evans, who was held captive by Stefano, was implanted with the fertilized egg and ultimately gave birth to the twins, serving as their surrogate.

Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – Cast Cuts, A Mass Killing Of Characters, And Resurrections Called “Melaswen”

In 2003, the shocking emergence of a serial killer dubbed the Salem Stalker left fans reeling as he targeted some of Salem’s most cherished residents.

Among the casualties was the beloved matriarch Alice Horton, portrayed by Frances Reid, who had been a staple of the show since its inception in 1965.

Her demise was particularly dramatic, involving a notorious donut being forcefully stuffed into her mouth during a gripping storyline that unfolded over several months.

This cleverly orchestrated plot twist also led to the untimely deaths of other key characters, including Roman, Maggie Horton (Suzanne Rogers), and Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston), among others.

Later, all the murder victims were revealed to be alive on an island called “Melaswen” – New Salem, spelled backwards and most of the actors returned to their roles.

DOOL Spoilers – The Salem Stalker Was Revealed To Be Marlena Evans?!

Fans were left in shock when the true identity of the killer was unveiled as none other than the seemingly trustworthy psychiatrist, Marlena. As the police pursued her, a dramatic shootout erupted on the rooftop of the police station.

Although Evans met her end during the chaos, it was revealed that Evans and all of her supposed victims were actually alive and thriving on the island of Melaswen.

This eerie island was designed to mimic Salem perfectly and was ultimately exposed as a devious scheme orchestrated by André DiMera (Thaao Penghlis), the lookalike cousin of Tony DiMera.

It was aimed at creating turmoil in the lives of others, even manipulating Marlena into believing she was the murderer.

Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – Stefano Lives In – Steveano?

We previously mentioned Princess Gina being revived in Hope in 2019-well, she wasn’t the only one, Rolf also raised the now dead Stefano the same way.

Rolf implanted a brain chip in Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) with the now dead Stefano’s “essence” to create the aptly nicknamed “Steveano”! Joe Mascolo had passed in real life in 2016 and Stefano, like Victor later on when John Aniston passed, was irreplaceable.

Together, “Steveano” and faux Princess Gina created havoc, and sought to break up John and Marlena so Gina could have John and “Steveano” Marlena.

Influenced by the brain chip, Steve even took Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) hostage, but fortunately in a memorable fix, both Steve and Hope regained their own identities.
