Emmerdale Spoilers: 14 huge Emmerdale spoilers for next week (12 to 17 January)

What’s next in the village?

Next week on Emmerdale, two police investigations rock the village. The truth about Celia’s human trafficking operation is out, but poor Moira is getting the blame. And there’s suspicion all round when Ray’s body is found.

Read on for 14 big moments to come. You can also check out our collection of 22 spoiler pictures from these episodes.

1. Moira is framed for Celia’s crimes

Moira is horrified as she comes under suspicion over her links to Celia, with the police now believing that she was involved in the human trafficking operation. Robert and Victoria are both interviewed by the police and hope they’ve done enough to paint Moira in a positive light.

Joe is also asked to offer his insights when the police pay a visit to Home Farm. Twisting the knife after his feud with Moira last year, Joe doesn’t give her his full backing.

2. Damning evidence makes Moira’s situation worse

The police step up their investigation by arriving at Butler’s Farm with a search warrant. Moira is confident that she has nothing to hide and seems relaxed about the search, but the detectives find incriminating evidence inside the house.

Moira is immediately arrested on suspicion of human trafficking and is led away by the police. Caleb promises Cain that they’ll find the best lawyer to represent Moira, but will this be enough?

3. Kim smells a rat

Kim asks Joe whether he had anything to do with Moira’s arrest, since it’s very convenient following their farm feud last year. She then decides that it’s best not to know, but begs Joe to stay out of it.

It seems that Kim is bang on the money, as Joe makes a furtive phone call to someone, asking for an update.

4. Ray’s body is found

It’s a busy week for the local police force, as they also descend on Caleb’s depot to follow up on the recent investigation into drugs being transported via the business.

Jai, Caleb and Billy are all horrified when the police find Ray’s body hidden in one of the vans.

5. Billy sparks a frenzy in the village

Billy heads to the café and announces that Ray’s body has been found.

Many of those who were victims of Ray are present to hear the news, so keep an eye out for who’s looking the most shifty.

6. April and Dylan aren’t on the same page

April tries to make Dylan see sense following the news of Ray’s death, pointing out that he was manipulating them all along.

Dylan is furious over April’s stance, insisting that Ray didn’t deserve to die.

7. Jai becomes the top suspect

Jai immediately looks shifty to the police, who demand a precise timeline for his use of the van. Caleb also doubts Jai, so when the police leave, he asks his colleague if there’s anything he needs to share!

Keen to muster up some other explanation, Jai suggests that Celia must have killed Ray, but Caleb reckons there’s a killer on the loose.

8. Caleb drops Jai in it

When the police next speak to Caleb, they try to figure out the connections involved in the case – most notably whether Jai and Ray knew each other.

Caleb points out that Jai used to be married to Laurel, who seemed to be moving on with Ray. This leaves DC Stewart very intrigued…

9. Laurel struggles after Ray’s death

Arthur warns Laurel that she doesn’t get to lecture him after everything that’s happened with Ray. Laurel then informs her teenage son that Ray’s body has been found.

The next day, Laurel crosses paths with Marlon and gives him a hard time for not warning her about Ray from the start.

10. Laurel is next to cause trouble for Jai

Laurel is questioned by police over her relationship with Ray – and potentially causes problems for Jai by implying that he wasn’t happy about it.

Laurel backtracks by insisting that Jai couldn’t have been responsible for Ray’s murder, but the damage may have already been done.

11. Jai tries to divert suspicion

After another round of questioning by the police – this time down at the station – Jai faces intense scrutiny from friends and neighbours at The Woolpack.

Jai goes on the attack by pointing out other suspects – especially April and Dylan. After accusing the two teens of keeping secrets, he storms out of the pub.

12. Paddy breaks down

Paddy puts on a brave face when Mandy calls him from Ireland, but breaks down in tears as soon as the conversation is over.

Dylan witnesses the upsetting moment and isn’t sure how to console Paddy.

13. The suspects meet up

Ross, Rhona, Marlon, Bob, April, Laurel, Arthur, Dylan and Paddy – all among Emmerdale‘s suspects in the Ray case – meet up after dark.

Each one of them seems to be keeping secrets, but did any of them kill Ray?

14. Paddy refuses to back down

Paddy continues to search for Bear with support from his loved ones, but the situation is looking incredibly bleak and the vet’s emotions overwhelm him. Lewis tries to comfort Paddy, but accidentally makes matters worse.

Just as the hunt for Bear continues, there’s a reminder of another victim, as there’s a section of newly-disturbed soil next to Anya’s secret grave.

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 8pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
