Erik Reichenbach had a hilarious response to Sage Ahrens-Nichols’ Survivor 49 cheating scandal

When Survivor 49 was airing, it didn’t take long for the show’s dedicated fans to realize that Sage Ahrens-Nichols had a remarkable personality. Perfectly willing to express her frustration with her tribemates, Ahrens-Nichols proved to be an open book with the camera. Even still, nobody could have expected what happened after the season came to an end.
In the weeks that followed Survivor 49’s finale airing, Ahrens-Nichols became one of the most talked-about players in the reality show’s history. However, she wasn’t being talked about because of what she did during the game. Instead, the fact that Ahrens-Nichols spoke out about a cheating scandal got many Survivor fans talking. Then, the former two-time player, Erik Reichenbach, posted a hilarious response video to the scandal that has rocked Jeff Probst’s show.

Erik Reichenbach released a perfect response to Sage Ahrens-Nichols’ Survivor 49 cheating scandal
Weeks after Survivor 49 finished airing, Sage Ahrens-Nichols began speaking out about what happened before the game in a series of social media posts. First, Ahrens-Nichols stated that several players from the season cheated by pregaming without naming anyone specific. Then, Ahrens-Nichols really got people talking by claiming that Sophi Balerdi and Jake Latimer were two of the cheaters.
As the discussion among fans about those allegations was raging, a totally unexpected person stepped forward with the perfect commentary. On Jan. 6, 2025, Erik Reichenbach commented on the cheating scandal in a TikTok video.
In the video, Reichenbach began by saying that there had been cheating during his first season, Survivor: Micronesia. Reichenbach then began explaining that he was talking about three Survivor Hall of Famers, Parvati Shallow, Cirie Fields, and Amanda Kimmel. If the video ended there, it would have set off a powder keg among fans. However, Reichenbach began jokingly complaining that the trio cheated by being too smart and strategic.
“People cheated on Survivor Micronesia before the game, particularly three players. I’m just gonna come out and say it. It was Cirie, Parvati, and Amanda. They were cheating because you could see they were constantly thinking really hard. They were too good at the game. They’re always thinking. They’re just really good at thinking. That’s cheating. It’s just cheating. “
Still not done, Reichenbach then called for Fields, Shallow, and Kimmel to face consequences for being as great as they were on Survivor.
“I just want them to be held accountable for being badass women that ran the game and destroyed everybody and don’t send them hate. But I’m calling it out. They cheated. They’re too smart. They’re too good.”

During Survivor: Micronesia, Kimmel, Fields, and Shallow formed the core of the most respected alliance in the show’s history, the Black Widow Brigade. That alliance infamously tricked Reichenbach into giving up his immunity and then voted him out. Reichenbach’s decision to give up his immunity has long been mocked as one of the worst moves in Survivor history.
While Reichenbach has been honest that the discourse like that has been hard at times, he has also consistently exhibited a good sense of humor about that moment. The TikTok video he just released is a perfect example of that.
