Are The Bold and the Beautiful fans tired of seeing Ridge vacillate between Brooke and Taylor, claiming each time he’s with one that it’s forever? Probably. But that’s okay for Katherine Kelly Lang, because unlike Brooke, the actress’ life has been moving in startling and incredible directions. She recently opened up about the changes in her life and how she’s owning her narrative.

Freedom Means Taking Ownership of Oneself

Lang spoke with Yes, French fashion and lifestyle magazine L’Officiel where she revealed that many years ago, she realized she had been on a path of reinventing herself. She explained that while she has evolved by playing Brooke over several decades, she had real-world tales to tell as well. “Reinvention became less about changing who I was and more about reclaiming all the parts of me that had been waiting quietly in the wings,” she stated.

The B&B star explained how through the decades, freedom has meant different things to her, depending on where she was in life. Currently, she feels that freedom means owning everything about herself, from her creativity to her time. She remarked, “It’s not about escaping something; it’s about standing fully in who I am and refusing to shrink for anyone.”

Everyone Has the Power of Reinvention

This bold new Lang has been wowing fans with her magazine covers and unleashing an edgy new look on the public. She explained how it dawned on her that she didn’t just simply want to play the story on B&B, she wanted to be the one telling it. That meant reevaluating her chosen profession. “When I began looking at my career as something I could design, not just follow,” she stated, adding, “it wasn’t one event — it was a gradual awakening.”

She has encouraged others to follow her mindset and was asked what advice she had for a person who was perhaps afraid to embark on a new beginning. “Starting over isn’t a setback; it’s a return to yourself,” she explained, noting that while fear is real, it shouldn’t prevent one from pursuing their dreams. She further stated that reinvention doesn’t mean eradicating one’s past, but rather, “it’s about carrying it with pride and choosing what to do with it next. That power is yours.”
