General Hospital Comings and Goings are gearing up for a big surprise just in time for the holidays. Actress Braedyn Bruner is joining the ABC soap as the new Emma Drake. The beloved character has been missing from our screens for a while now, but the wait is finally over! Bruner will make her debut on December 23 as part of Anna Devane’s mysterious “special surprise.” Check out all the details below.

General Hospital Comings and Goings saw Anna mentioning a Christmas gift during the December 20 episode. Well, that’s Emma at the door to take the guests at Maxie Jones’ gathering by surprise. The character has a new face as Brooklyn Rae Silzer gets replaced by Bruner. The ex-GH actress charmed audiences as Emma from 2011 to 2018.

However, Emma has arrived in Port Charles to stick around for more than just a quick holiday cameo this time. Meanwhile, Braedyn, who has her roots in commercials and indie films, makes her daytime debut with this role. “Part of the audition process for me was going back and watching old episodes and YouTube videos,” she told TV Insider. 

Moreover, Bruner has binge-watched all the landmark episodes, from Emma’s birth scene to her grown-up days. This helped her understand the character’s relationships with everyone in the town. The debutant also discussed the touching connection she’s built with her on-screen grandma, Finola Hughes (Anna Devane). 

“When my mom found out that I was screen-testing with Finola, she was just beside herself… They both cried,” Bruner admitted. She feels the same way about her other castmates like Eden McCoy (Josslyn Jacks) and Tabyana Ali (Trina Robinson). It looks like Braedyn is already fitting in with the GH fam!
