It was a short week on General Hospital due to the Thanksgiving holiday. However, it was a good week, and a very emotional one, especially considering it felt like last week dragged on. Lulu is finally back, but we’ll have to wait until next week for the big reunions. It looks like that is when we’ll also get the annual Quartermaine Thanksgiving disaster. The show wouldn’t deny us pizza and singing, would it?

Lulu On the Lam

Last week, I discussed Cyrus’ sudden, creepy obsession with Lulu and what might be behind it. We still don’t have answers except for him mentioning that he’s been the only one there for her while Laura and Lucky have been busy elsewhere.

Things took an even more bizarre turn this week when Cyrus planned to transfer Lulu from Turning Woods to a facility in South Carolina. What?! Exactly how was he going to explain that to Laura? Lulu promptly made a break for it, only to be conveniently picked up from the side of the road by Cody. Many viewers questioned why Cody didn’t recognize Lulu, and I had the same thoughts. Surely, he’s been shown a photo of her. Plus, he’s been at the hospital when she was there before the surgery. Perhaps Lulu’s hoodie kept him from figuring out her identity. Maybe it works like Clark Kent’s glasses do. Either way, having Cody be the one to help her out just screamed, “Possible future love connection!” When you throw Dante into the mix, it could make for an interesting love triangle.

Lucky seemed to finally step up and offered to help Liz find out what really happened to Sam, and ordered Cyrus to stay away from Lulu. However, Cyrus tore into Lucky and good, telling him not to preach about family to him when he’s been gone a decade and can barely spend a moment with his own son. The truth hurts! Maybe being told off by his Uncle Cyrus will make him less of a man-child.

Friday’s episode was a nail-biter with Lulu running around Port Charles confused by how much things had changed. Frankly, I was worried she’d run into Cyrus, who would lock her up, dragging this storyline out even further. Boy, was I glad that didn’t happen. She went home, only to find a much-grown James informing her that she was, in fact, in his house. James and Maxie’s interactions this week, from the floor is lava game to James yelling, “Stranger danger!” at Lulu, were a lot of fun.

Lulu then headed to the only other home she knew, the Quartermaine mansion, where she was reunited with her son, Rocco. If Lulu hadn’t figured out that a r, and it will be four long days waiting for the show to return so we can watch as Lulu reunites with her other famigood amount of time has passed, she probably is realizing it now! That was a great holiday weekend cliffhangely members and friends.

By the end of the week, Cyrus, Lucky and Liz had all discovered that Lulu was awake and had escaped Turning Woods. Maxie and Spinelli seemed to be clued in on Lulu’s return after James identified her as the woman who broke into their home. Many viewers have noted how odd Laura’s latest absence is in this storyline. She wasn’t at Sam’s funeral, and now her daughter is missing, and she’s busy being the mayor. Fortunately, from the preview for next week, Laura is back and working with Lucky to find Lulu.

The Baby Drama Begins

Most of us expected Sasha to end up pregnant from her one-night stand with Michael, and now she is. Should Michael come clean with Willow, there is no way of keeping her name out of his affair now. First, though, Sasha has to tell Michael about the baby unless she plans to hide her bump behind big pots and pans in the Quartermaine kitchen.

The revelation that Sasha is pregnant came right as the news broke that Chad Duell, who plays Michael, is leaving the show. Not only that, it doesn’t appear the character will be recast. Instead, they are writing Michael out. How this will play out is anyone’s guess, as Michael is not someone who would walk away from his children or the mother of his children. That alone could suggest that the writers may — gulp — kill him off! (There are other alternatives, however; review more than a dozen exit strategies for Michael here.)

Of course, this is also Sasha we are talking about. With her luck, her fears that this baby will die like Liam did could come to fruition. Even worse, Sasha and the baby could both die in childbirth. As awful as it would be, again, this is Sasha we are talking about, and killing her is the only thing the writers haven’t done to make this poor woman suffer more than she already has.

Then there is Willow, who everyone is still waiting to find out that she, too, has a bun in the oven. Only she won’t know which baker put it there.

Order In the Court

I don’t think any viewers think Ava will be found guilty in the death of Kristina’s baby, as she’s just too good of a character to send off to prison. Plus, for once, Ava is actually innocent of the crime she’s being accused of. And even though we knew Kristina would muck it up on the stand, playing into Ava’s favor, it was still tough watching Ric destroy her up there.

I did not have Natalia getting up on the stand and perjuring herself for Kristina on my list of what might happen. Clearly, this is a way to bring Sonny and Natalia closer, though I also hope Blaze/Alison will learn what her mother did for Kristina. That might start the ball rolling on her return to Port Charles.

I hope Kristina can accept the decision the jury hands back, but I don’t know if she will. Angry, vengeful Kristina has become tiresome, and it’s time she and Molly moved on. Molly at least seems to have come to terms with the fact that this was all one big tragedy brought on by decisions made by multiple people, and no one person is to blame. That’s what Ric argued and what seemed to resonate with her, which is precisely why he took this case. He has said all along that he hoped Molly could put this behind her and move forward. Now, if only Kristina could do the same…
