General Hospital Spoilers: Maurice Benard Confusing Fans Over His Retirement Plans
Does he want to stay or does he want to go? That’s what a lot of General Hospital fans can’t help but wonder as they seem to be more confused than ever before over his retirement plans. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.
General Hospital Spoilers: Maurice Benard Confusing Fans Over His Retirement Plans
Maurice has hinted in the past that he’s been thinking about hanging up his boots and calling it a day as his character, Sonny Corinthos. After all, he’s been on the show for more than four decades.
Not only that, but Maurice has also hinted that he wants to spend more time with his family at home. He’s a proud father and grandfather and makes it known just how much he loves his family on social media.
It goes without saying that the internet certainly has had a lot to say about the matter. Some have even commented with, “Maurice has also said previously that playing the out of control version of Sonny took a toll on him mentally.”
“So unless Sonny is not going to continue down that path, Maurice’s opinion could easily flip back to it not being worth it.”
Another General Hospital fan wrote, “I think he uses retirement as a bargaining chip when it’s time for contract talks. He knows the show will throw more money at him. Because let’s face it. As sick of Sonny as I am, who do they have to carry the torch? No one.”
“But that’s partially the show’s fault and Maurice’s for letting him hog the focus of the show all these years. They haven’t done anything to build for the future of GH.”
