General Hospital’s Katelyn MacMullen Responds to Chad Duell’s Exit – See What Willow’s Portrayer Said to TV Husband
General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that the ABC soap has been undergoing some cast changes lately, so fans have definitely been buzzing on social media. Most recently, Chad Duell (Michael Corinthos) announced on his Instagram account that he’d made the decision to leave GH.
That left viewers with plenty of questions about how Michael would be written out.
It’s too early to say for certain how Michael’s exit will go down, but GH Executive Producer Frank Valentini did confirm there are no plans to recast Michael right now.
Valentini also promised “a great story for Michael and his family when Chad exits in the new year,” so Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) will be part of all the upcoming drama as Michael’s wife.
Of course, Michael and Willow are currently in the midst of major marriage issues thanks to all the betrayals and secrets between them.
However, it certainly looks like their portrayers have a solid co-star relationship and a sweet friendship behind the scenes.
After Chad Duell made his exit announcement, Katelyn MacMullen left a comment on his departure post. Let’s look at what Duell’s TV wife had to say about his decision to leave the role of Michael.
“Love you, Chad!!!!” MacMullen exclaimed before adding three heart emojis.
In addition to that comment, Katelyn MacMullen posted a pic of herself in a promotional photo with Chad Duell on her Instagram story.
It gave MacMullen a chance to share some supportive emojis and show Duell a little more love.
Duell also got some heartfelt words from co-stars like Laura Wright (Carly Spencer), Cameron Mathison (Drew Quartermaine), Sofia Mattsson (Sasha Gilmore Corbin), Dominic Zamprogna (Dante Falconeri) and more since they all made comments under his original post.
Even Viron Weaver (Wiley Corinthos) – or at least the adult running his account – chimed in and thanked Duell for being the best TV dad that he could ask for.
It’s easy to see that Duell was very well-liked on set, so many of his co-stars are sad to see him go.
That said, you never know what might happen in the future, so there’s always a chance that Duell could make a comeback down the road.
