While the holidays are a time for making new memories, many are faced with heartbreaking ones from years past. General Hospital alum Michael Easton (ex-Finn) took some time out on Christmas Eve to remember one of his dearest friends and former castmate Kamar de los Reyes.
The actor, who passed away on December 24, 2023, after a brief battle with cancer, worked with Easton for many years on One Life to Live playing Antonio Vega, and offscreen… they were best friends. “Kamar was a man of faith who never lost hope,” Easton recalled in a post, accompanied by treasured photo memories. “He loved his wife and his children and their love for him was the lifeforce that kept him going.”

Though de los Reyes “meant so much to so many,” to Easton, he was his best friend, the best man at his wedding and a man who was “always there for me and my family” for thirty years. “The nights seem a little darker now but I know he’s still with us, his light guiding us forward,” Easton shared then went on to say, “This day reminds me that life is precious, fragile and I am so grateful for every second I get to spend with the people I love.”
de los Reyes’ wife, Sherri Saum (Keri), who he played opposite on One Life to Live, posted a photo of her late husband and stated, “This is where you put the words but I don’t have many today. Forever the king of our hearts,” to which Easton replied, “He was a king.”
