General Hospital’s Takedown of Drew Is Darn Near Here: *This* Is Where and How It Should Happen!

It wasn’t the most riveting week on General Hospital, but there were some developments. Drew continued on his path of destruction, which is likely going to end poorly for him, as it should. The truth about Brook Lynn’s baby being revealed naturally stalled. And Charlotte finally returned to Port Charles, but she’s not alone. Read on, and we’ll go over the lot of it
drew Is Going Down… But When? And How?
If the writers aren’t leading to a storyline where someone takes Drew out, then there better be some epic takedown planned for his character. There seems to be no road to redemption for him, and he’s dragging Willow down with him. She, of all people, should know the cult mindset, yet here she is, believing that everyone is wrong about Drew and that he is the one telling the truth. You’re in the Quarter-Cain Cult, Willow!

Trying to secure the use of the Quartermaine name by blackmailing Tracy and going after the Quartermaine crypt makes no sense. Drew had to have known when it got out that he’d look like a complete jerk and was using his power for a personal family vendetta. Given all the good the Quartermaines have done for Port Charles, does he expect the town to be on his side? The crypt has sat there for decades, and nobody has cared about it overlapping onto publicly preserved land until now. It’s not as if it’s blocking development. That’s what preserved land is about!
Then, there is the issue of the crypt itself. Part of it might be 10 feet over the Quartermaine property line and on protected county land. Still, graves, both undocumented and documented, are also protected by federal and most state laws. Heck, many states now consider roadside memorials people set up to be protected monuments!
On Friday as Portia vented to Ava about the hell Drew is putting her through, now forcing her to work on a hospital sports pediatric project with him to churn up good publicity, Ava made a damn good point. She listed all the enemies Drew was making and suggested that Portia let one of them bring his house of cards down. Portia told her someone needed to do it and soon. Sounds like heavy foreshadowing to me!
Finally, Carly’s so desperate to get rid of Drew that she told Nina if they can’t find something incriminating on him in his house, they need to plant something! Yes, indeed, it looks like Drew is going down, one way or the other. Where and how should it all happen? I have a suggestion!
Drew loves the spotlight, Drew loves playing hero, and Drew loves good publicity. He should bring back a Port Charles tradition that was not held last year… the Nurses’ Ball! And you know he’d also put Willow in charge of the whole thing. Imagine Drew thinking he’s doing a wonderful thing, only for him and Willow to end up with egg on their faces when he is publicly exposed on stage in front of a televised audience for the rat he is!

Other Storyline Ponderings
Usually, I wouldn’t mind a visit from Gloria, but all she’s doing is prolonging the truth about Gio coming out. In last week’s column, I wrote about how many families this secret would blow up, and this week, we got some hints as to what some of the results might be. Gloria pointed out that Gio worshipped his mother. Gio even told Brook Lynn how much he misses his mom. However, he never knew his father. When it all comes out, I could see Gio telling Brook Lynn he had a mother and doesn’t need another one, but at the same time, wanting to get to know Dante as he never had a father.
Valentin sent Charlotte home, so maybe Lulu can focus on her and not on Brook Lynn’s secret. However, Valentin turned up in Port Charles on Friday and clearly has something diabolical planned to pay back Jack. We know that Jack didn’t send the kill squad after Valentin, so who did? Who is even running the WSB with Jack’s demotion?
Even though we know she’s not supposed to tell her mom, Joss will be unable to keep her WSB agent status a secret, likely imploding Carly and Jack’s relationship.
More: Laura Wright’s romantic weekend!
One good thing seems to come of Lucas’ Miami trip: He’s met the mysterious and handsome lawyer Marco. I think it’s safe to say Marco probably has a secret or two up his sleeve!
Jack gave Jordan some intel on Sidwell. The minerals he specializes in are used to make weapons of destruction. So, maybe we are back to Sidwell bombing Sonny’s penthouse now.
Finally, if we never have to see that Golden Bachelorette dude again, it will be a good thing! Whatever that was with him and Nina was painful to watch.
That’s it for my thoughts, opinions and predictions for General Hospital this week. As always, leave yours in the comments below!
