General Hospital spoilers and updates for Thursday, July 31 tease a worried grandma, power plays, and help wanted. Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) worries, Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) tries a power play, and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) wants someone’s help.
Worried Grandma
Anna is visibly worried about Emma Scorpio-Drake (Braedyn Bruner) as she talks to Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna).
She tells him she’s afraid she’ll get herself into a situation she can’t get out of-will she assign Dante to keep an eye on her?
That could be a bit awkward considering Emma is nearly constantly with Gio Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza) who’s still not talking to his birth parents, Dante being one of them.
At the same time, they already know Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) is an agent, and haven’t given any heads up to Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) at all either. Might Anna be concerned Jack Brennan (Chris L. McKenna) recruited Emma behind her back anyway?
Sneaky Confessions
In the meantime, Emma and Gio appear to be somewhere in the vicinity of the Metro Court Pool. He’s in his work uniform and she’s wearing a pair of jeans shorts with an open shirt over a yellow bikini top-she tells him she stole someone’s facility’s master key.
We can safely assume the key is Professor Henry Dalton’s (Daniel Goddard). It sounds like Emma may have already gotten herself into something she won’t be able to get herself out of-especially if Dalton discovers it missing! Assigning Dante to keep an eye on Emma as well as Josslyn may not be a bad idea, considering!
Power Plays
In the meantime, Curtis tries a power play on Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) so Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) won’t have to resign her position at GH, which she’s already moved on.
Curtis asks Drew if he’s willing to hand over the blackmail material he has on Portia, and doesn’t trust him to play nice.
That is understandable considering the cutthroat Congressman has pulled nearly every underhanded trick in the book over the past few months!
Curtis knows that he has to approach anything Drew-related like fighting fire with fire. Will he be able to get the proof out of Drew’s hands and be able to trust it’s all of it?
Willow Pleads With Michael Over Their Children, And Will Make A Vow
Willow Tait, (Katelyn MacMullen) in the meantime, is with Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) and pleading with him over their children, Wiley and Amelia Corinthos (Viron Weaver, Serenity and Sequoia Mork Macko). She will make a vow as she asks her ex-husband, “Can we figure out what to do about our kids together?”
Michael can see that at least Willow seems to be in much better shape mentally and emotionally than she was when she collapsed in court and the previous night at Carly’s. But as he told Drew when Drew tried to reason with him about Willow seeing the kids, he doesn’t feel like he can take that risk.
Mother’s Advice
In the meantime, Carly is with Josslyn as she gives her some advice about her “boyfriend” Vaughn (Bryce Durfee). She has no idea that Vaughn is actually Joss’s WSB handler and the romantic relationship is just a cover.
Carly obviously is taking exception to some of Vaughn’s behavior, as she tells Joss if that’s what he’s doing, he’s not worth her time.
Carly saw with her own eyes Vaughn and Joss publicly arguing, seeming to break up, and Vaughn flirting with Emma. Vaughn is representing himself as a player, all the time being a cover for his WSB activities.
Help Wanted
Elsewhere, Jason is with Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) and tells her he really needs her help.
Chances are, he needs her help as GH’s head nurse to access some final medical records on Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud). Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) had told him how Britt died in her arms and presumably, she took her to the hospital morgue.
Liesl mentioned Britt told her she wanted to be cremated instead of donating her body to medical science because of the Huntington’s Disease.
But he knows that he saw her alive at the Paris Airport, and has started to search and do research on the Five Poppies resort in Dalmatia, Croatia.
He’ll want to confirm what happened to Britt’s body after Liesl said she died in her arms on the Haunted Star-Liesl seems clueless about her survival.
