The Forrester clan just got one step closer to reclaiming their company this week… thanks in large part to Bold & Beautiful‘s Daphne. But how will what Hope just witnessed shake things up? Plus, what was up with that text Finn received? Let’s discuss…

Who Texted Finn?

This question is, it would appear, rhetorical. Because really, there’s only one person who could have, right? The real question is why that prison administrator would do such a thing. Sure, Finn broke out the “She’s my daughter” card, but the dude didn’t seem compelled to tell Poppy, whom he knew to be Luna’s mom. (The fact that the text specifically said “your daughter” limits the suspects in this mini mystery, as few people on the canvas have been clued in to that fact, let alone when combined with Luna’s top-secret location.)

Finn Tells Luna the Truth BB

I mean, the obvious answer is “they wanted to push the plot forward,” and on the surface, I don’t have an issue with that. But I’m bothered by the lack of logic. It’s not as if Finn threatened the dude. Instead, the doc went to his office and did a couple of rather lame internet searches, as if typing “Where is Luna Nozawa?” would somehow magically reveal her location.

More: Brace yourselves, Sinn nation!

But this story has been illogical from the jump. Bill’s rationale for taking in Luna was ludicrous, especially when considering she is serving a life sentence. Does he plan on hiding her forever? And don’t get me started on Luna happily throwing open the door to “cousin Finn.” Sure, she hoped it might be her new pal Remy, but she had no reason to think that true. And why did the guards, whom it’s been made clear are under strict instructions not to let anyone up to the house without Bill’s say-so, send Finn merrily up to the front door?

Right, because it was plot-dictated and, well, who cares if it actually makes sense? While that annoys the heck out of me, if it ends this plot sooner, I guess that’s a good thing. Maybe?

Will Hope Dump Carter?

The other big plot this week built up to Hope spying Carter sharing a liplock with Daphne. Here again, we had some rushed plot points, specifically with regards to the launch of Forrester’s new fragrance line. Remember when the launch of a Forrester fashion line or collection was exciting? Runways and models and reporters! Now, we get two or three people looking at their computer screens. No wonder Hope was the only one jazzed about the launch.

It’s been sort of fun watching Hope slowly come to the realization that she’s fighting a losing battle. Heck, even her own mom — president of the dang company — didn’t put in an appearance for the latest launch! Hope keeps plastering a smile on her face and pretending everything is gonna be fine, but she very clearly realizes that things are slipping away from her.

The Friday cliffhanger found Hope catching a glimpse of the aforementioned Daphne/Carter smooch… which wasn’t much of a shock given that the previous week’s preview gave away that twist. What I’m interested in here is how Hope reacts. Does she reveal what she saw? Might she demand Carter fire Daphne — which would be awfully awkward, given the launch of her new line.

• When Steffy had that odd, black-and-white holographic flashback to her conversation with Finn (pictured below), all I could think of was Princess Leia being projected by R2D2. #IYKYK

• Also, why is Steffy doing laundry? What’s the point of being rich if you can’t hand off the most mundane of chores?

• While Forrester is busy launching jewelry lines and pretty scents, shouldn’t someone maybe be thinking about fashion? This week there was mention of the company needing new designers… but you know what wasn’t mentioned? The still-missing RJ.

• Sheila hasn’t thought about Finn in months, but the moment viewers learned that he’s Luna’s dad, the psycho-turned-waitress suddenly started waxing poetic about missing her son and his family. As the church lady on Saturday Night Live always said, “How convenient!”
