Jonathan Jackson (Lucky Spencer) is leaving General Hospital (GH) again, and fans talked out their feelings about him being brought back in the first place. Read on to find out what they think about it.

Lucky Left & Fans Have Mixed Feelings

Jonathan Jackson returned as Lucky Spencer about nine months ago. He is recurring, so that’s not a massive surprise. However, this time, many people feel unhappy because he came in for a short time. Now he’s going, he leaves a sense of dissatisfaction behind.

Frank Valentini, the Executive Producer for the ABC show, said, “We were delighted that Jonathan could step back into the role of Lucky, even for a brief period. We wish him all the best, and the door remains open for his return.”

Well, if they are leaving the door open, then critics hope to the high heavens that they give him a more interesting storyline.

Fan Reactions

Some people claim that they cannot stand Jonathan Jackson. However, on Reddit, some constructive criticism arrived, and a lot of it was aimed at the writers.

One of them wrote, “This whole no purpose, sad bartender, covering for Kristina, in competition with Ric thing [was] a total waste of the actor’s talents! Like what did they even bring him back for?”

Here are a few other reactions to the original face of Lucky Spencer’s departure:

• I like the beginning stuff because he was getting a story but now he’s not, and it is underwhelming.
• First we had a month of him playing cards which I tolerated only because we got some L&L2 flashbacks/hallucination scenes. I thought okay we are being set up for a very slow L&L2 burn here. But no! We got about 5 minutes of good scenes with Lucky, Laura and Lulu then he’s barely interacted with his family since…
• They didn’t have him doing hardly anything at all. I’m not sure why they brought him back, other than Lulu coming out of her coma. He and Elizabeth don’t even have that much of a relationship for him to propose marriage already.

Jonathan Is Disappointed?

ABC fans might think that even Jonathan is happy to leave Port Charles again, as he seemed to have almost no story at all. When he returned in August, he’d told TV Insider,“When I came back in 2015, that was just for a few episodes for Tony [Geary’s] exit, and this is not that. This is back in a substantial, real way, which I’m excited about.”
