At General Hospital, Lucky meets with Liz, who tells him another patient died out of nowhere, just like Sam, and on her watch. Lucky says something is definitely wrong here. Liz fills him in on what happened, and while toxicology isn’t back yet, it could be digitalis just as with Sam. Portia interrupts and asks to speak with Liz privately, but Liz insists Lucky be there for support as she knows this is about Dex, Sam and her future here.
In Portia’s office, she says Dex’s death will be added to the investigation into Sam’s death. As this plays out, Liz needs to step back from patient care. She can take personal leave or go the administration route, but there is to be no patient interaction. Once she’s cleared, she’s back as head nurse, but it will take time to go through the camera footage from the halls. Liz would prefer to work in any capacity she can. Portia was hoping she’d make that choice.

In the halls, Jason arrives to meet Anna. Anna tells him that she was with Joss when they got the news, and Dex was fine after the surgery. She tried to call Carly, but she’s not picking up. Jason thanks her for calling him, and he will handle it. Anna leaves him to take care of Joss.
Joss is in Dex’s room, takes his hand, and doesn’t understand how he’s not here anymore. She lays her head on his chest and weeps. She can still feel him with her, so she has to thank him for saving her life, trusting her with his heart, and changing how she sees the world. She thanks him for loving her, and she hopes she said it often enough, but she loves him too. She gives him a kiss on the lips as Jason stands in the door and listens. She ends up breaking down in Jason’s arms. He tells her how sorry he is.
Mac and Felicia arrive to support Anna. Anna feels this is her fault, she pushed Dex to join the force. Mac says nobody is forced to put on the badge, and Felicia says Dex told her how proud he was to be an officer.
Anna says Dex being stabbed in broad daylight doesn’t add up, but it means he was the target. She asks Felicia to take her through what happened again. Felicia relays what happened, but also says that something about that day has been nagging at her, and she can’t remember what it is.
Jason takes Joss to the footbridge. Joss can’t believe this is happening again. She’s done this with Oscar and must now do it with Dex. With Oscar, she at least got to say goodbye. She thinks back to decorating for Christmas the other day with Dex, and he was uncomfortable as the holidays weren’t happy for him as a kid. She promised they’d make new memories, but now she’ll never make another memory with him again.
Joss says none of this makes sense. She needs to know what went wrong, and she won’t be able to let it go if she doesn’t know. Jason says that may bring her peace, but it won’t bring him back. Joss knows that but owes it to Dex to get the answers.
Dante takes Lulu to a café and tells her that she needs a big reality check. He asks what would have happened if he or another officer shot her tonight, and then he had to tell Rocco she was gone again. He says she needs to be smart and stay safe, as her getting hurt does her, Rocco, and Charlotte no good. Lulu hates saying he’s right, but he is.
Lulu doesn’t want him to think she’s prioritizing Charlotte over Rocco. Dante says she should. Rocco is here and safe. Lulu fears Valentin must know she’s back, and he’s probably gone deeper into hiding. She fears she may never see her daughter again.
Lucky and Liz later arrive at the café for some drinks. Liz thanks him for being there for her today, and they toast to his being her wingman. They discuss what happened with Sam and Dex, and that something bad is going on at General Hospital
At the Quartermaine mansion, Michael tells Drew that he won’t leak the video to protect Willow and his children, which even protects Drew, Willow’s “hero.” Drew tells Michael this isn’t about hero worship, as they developed feelings for one another, and Michael knows Willow. Would she cheat on him if her feelings for him weren’t real? Drew says they fought this for months and feel horrible for hurting the family. Michael laughs as he doesn’t understand the word family, as he didn’t think about anyone but himself.
Michael says he won’t leak the footage, but it will come out eventually. Drew says all the Quartermaines have cheated on their spouses. Ned and Tracy enter, and she pipes up, “Not me!” Michael again states he won’t leak the footage but can’t speak for others. He leaves them.
Tracy suggests they leak the nanny cam to Ned’s friend, who runs a communications firm. Drew says they would never do that as it would drag the family’s name through the mud, and to think about what Alan, Edward or Lila would think. Tracy says not to mention them as he’s never been one of them so go back to being a Cain. Drew asks what the criteria to be a Quartermaine is, withholding heart medication from one’s dying father?
Drew says Alan was his father, so he has a right to the family name. Tracy and Ned tell him that none of this around him belongs to him, and all he’s done has caused chaos since he stepped into this house. Tracy tells Drew that he may think he and Willow are unique, but they are as common as they come.
Lulu arrives with Dante and chimes, “Step-Monster, you haven’t changed a bit.” Tracy cries, “Finally!” She and Lulu embrace. Tracy tells everyone to get out so she can catch up with Lulu, so the men depart. Tracy can’t believe she’s here and healthy, and she’s been praying for this, which they know she doesn’t do often. They embrace again.
Tracy wishes her father could see her, as Luke always knew she’d wake up. Lulu asks if her father was happy. Tracy says they both were, and they remained together. They reminisce about Luke. Tracy knows she missed a lot and urges her to focus on the present. Tracy asks how it’s been reconnecting with Rocco. Lulu says it’s been great, but she wants to find Charlotte and connect with her, too. Tracy says she can use all her resources but don’t go rogue like Luke would. Lulu promises she won’t.

At the gatehouse, Carly stops Willow and Nina from taking off with the kids. Nina tells Carly they are on their way to a sleepover adventure, but Carly tells her if they think she isn’t going to stop this just because the children are here, they are wrong. Wiley asks if Grandma Carly wants to come to the sleepover. Carly says she’d love to, but she thinks the kids should return to their beds. Willow tells Carly this isn’t the place or time for an adult conversation. Carly suggests that Willow and the kids stay here and that Nina can go home. Nina isn’t leaving without her grandkids and tells Carly to get out of her way.
Willow tells Carly whatever happens, this is not her decision. Carly says tonight, everyone is sleeping in their own beds. Michael walks in, and Carly chirps, “Look Daddy’s home!” Michael asks what is happening, and Carly says Nina and Willow were taking the kids for a sleepover at Grandma Nina’s. Willow tells Michael they have a lot to talk about, but tonight, she needs this, and so do the kids. Michael tells them to have fun at Grandma Nina’s. Willow thanks him and says to the kids that they’ll see Daddy soon.
After they leave, Carly tells Michael that was a mistake as he just gave Willow a leg up in a custody trial. Michael tells his mom he doesn’t want to take Wiley and Amelia away from their mother as he remembers what it was like when Dad took him and Morgan from her. Carly apologizes, and Michael says he won’t lose his kids. Carly offers to call Diane and then sees all the calls and texts she’s missed. She’s stunned to learn Dex is dead.
Michael goes back to the kitchen looking for Sasha, but Ned hasn’t seen her. Ned asks how Michael is doing. Michael says Willow took the kids to stay at Nina’s until they figure out what is next. Ned tells Michael that Willow isn’t the enemy, that Drew is. Michael knows that. Ned says he has his full support, and Drew will live to regret this as he didn’t just hurt Michael, he hurt the whole family.
Drew goes to the gatehouse and knocks on the door, but no one is home. He tries to call Willow, who ignores his call at Nina’s urging. In Nina’s car, she tells Willow that Drew’s made her life a nightmare, so she ignores him.
