Julie Chen Moonves Drops a New Year Hint — Is ‘Big Brother’ About to Return Sooner Than Expected?
Big Brother fans know one rule better than any other: nothing is ever said by accident.

On January 2, longtime Big Brother host Julie Chen Moonves ignited speculation across social media after posting a seemingly innocent New Year message — one that many viewers believe carries a much bigger meaning.
Three words I’ll leave you with as we start this new year with peace and positivity: LOVE ONE ANOTHER … start there 🙂☺️ see you all soon 💙✨” Chen Moonves wrote on Instagram, alongside a striking photo of herself dressed head-to-toe in black, standing on a balcony that appears to be part of a luxury hotel.
While “Love one another” has become her iconic sign-off on live Big Brother episodes, fans zeroed in on one phrase that doesn’t usually come casually: “See you all soon.”
Soon? How soon?
Season 27 wrapped up in September, and traditionally, Big Brother doesn’t return until summer. But history shows the franchise isn’t afraid to break its own rules. Winter editions like Celebrity Big Brother and Big Brother: Reindeer Games have aired outside the usual schedule.
Reindeer Games debuted in 2023 due to industry-wide labor disputes, while Celebrity Big Brother typically aired during Winter Olympic seasons. With the Winter Olympics set to return this February, fans are wondering if CBS is preparing another surprise twist.
Although executive producers Alison Grodner and Rich Meehan told Entertainment Weekly last October that no spinoffs were officially planned, Grodner left the door open. “It doesn’t look like it,” she said of a February celebrity season, “but there are other factors beyond our control.”
Translation? Never say never.
Fans wasted no time flooding the comments with theories.
“Sooner than later, please,” one wrote.
“Winter season confirmed?” another asked.
“All-winners season?” a third speculated.

Rumors of an all-winners edition have been growing since Rachel Reilly’s return in Season 27. The Season 13 champion previously said she would only consider coming back if the season were shorter, citing family commitments.
So was Julie Chen Moonves simply spreading New Year positivity — or quietly teasing the next Big Brother move?
And when the host says, “See you soon,” history suggests it’s worth paying attention.
