At Forrester, Steffy and Ridge conclude some business and marvel that they’re back it like they haven’t missed a beat. Steffy’s glad she doesn’t have to deal with Hope and all her drama. She and her line are gone forever. Ridge gets a text from Baker… still no progress on putting Luna back behind bars. They have to stay vigilant because she’ll want to see Finn. Steffy says, “Over my dead body.” Ridge asks her not to joke about that… she already tried once. Steffy is so furious with Bill for allowing that psychopath out of prison. Steffy says she’s spoken to Liam about this, and he’s really upset about it. Ridge thinks it must have been a hell of a shock. Steffy recaps that Bill let a psychopath back into society. She’s Sheila’s granddaughter and will kill again. Liam thinks Bill’s lost his mind. She’s sure this will affect their relationship. Ridge sees she still cares about Liam. Steffy says of course; they have history and Kelly, who is their top priority. “He really is a fantastic man and father. I’ll never stop caring about him.”

Bill and Liam Have It Out

At Bill’s place, he laughs at the suggestion that Liam would quit his cushy job at his company. “You can’t make it without me.” He needles that he needs his daddy’s help. Liam has experience that he can apply in the real world. “This is why I’m walking away.” He turns to go and Bill says, “Bye.” Liam marvels at Bill talking to him this way, while coddling a two-time murderer and getting her pardoned. Liam hollers, “Do you want to know why I can’t relate to you? It’s because you’re certifiable!!” Bill seethes, “Do you know who you’re talking to?” Liam isn’t sure because he never knows what version of his father he’s going to get. Today, apparently, its’ the one who cares more about protecting a murderer than his own granddaughter and her mother. Bill yells that Steffy and Kelly aren’t in any danger; Liam is over-reacting. Just like threatening to ditch Spencer. Is he actually stupid enough to walk away from the best thing that ever happened to him?!

Liam shakes his head. They have different definitions of the word stupid. Liam doesn’t want to be selfish and volatile like Bill. His father blames Liam’s mother for making him soft. Liam’s heard it all before. He still looked for him and tried to understand him. What the hell does the Spencer name even stand for? He said family comes first, but that’s not him now. He doesn’t know what Luna did or said to convince him to abandon every principle he’s ever stood for, but that’s because he won’t talk to him. “This is the part where you say, ‘Don’t go, Liam.” Why can’t he say that?!

Bill asks if he’s done going off on him. Liam’s exasperated. His father is fearless when it comes to everything but his heart. The idea of someone actually understanding him petrifies him. The Dollar Bill is so scary that even his closest loved ones don’t feel comfortable asking him to look behind the curtain. Was what happened to him so traumatic that he feels more kinship with someone like Luna that with him?! Bill tells Liam that Luna isn’t the heir to an empire. Liam says he wasn’t either until he made him one. Bill threatens him with losing his trust fund. Liam doesn’t care; “Liquidate it.” He points out that Bill has three sons: Wyatt is gone and Will’s living with his mom. “Who could blame him?” Liam is the only one who’s stuck around and put up with him, working hard to earn his respect, and for what? “A private tennis court? I don’t care about the trappings of wealth, dad. I wanted to love you! I wanted to know you, and you won’t let me.” Liam muses, “Maybe I got that backwards. Maybe the problem is that I know you too well.”

Brooke Worries About Hope

At Brooke’s place, she tells Katie that Hope’s still upset with her. She believes she’s being sold out by her and Carter. Katie recaps that Hope’s been lashing out and even tried to slap her mother. Brooke says she feels betrayed; like nobody understands her. Katie guesses this is because Brooke’s still at Forrester and she’s not. She warns the hurt and pain won’t go away. Hope’s saying and doing things she’s going to end up regretting. Brooke states that until she accepts that she brought this on herself, she’s going to continue to feel abandoned.

Katie assures Brooke that Hope will come around. She’ll realize no one can give her the kind of love and support she can. Brooke tells her sister she’s never seen Hope like this; lost, floundering, and feeling like everyone’s against her. It makes her wonder what she’ll do and who she’ll turn to.

Deacon Wants to Help

At Il Giardino, Deacon tells Hope, “I’ve got you, baby girl. Always.” Hope thanks him and wishes her mom felt that way. Deacon rants that Carter initiated the whole takeover and should be on the curb, not behind a desk. Hope thinks Steffy kept Carter on to rub it in her face. Deacon fumes that it’s not fair how Steffy and Ridge treated her. He knows he wasn’t around for a lot of years, but he’s there now. Nobody is going to cause her the kind of grief the Forresters have. He wants to go down there and get in Carter’s face and pound Ridge into the ground. Hope smiles and puts her hands on her dad’s shoulders.

Deacon assures Hope she’ll get through this because she’s strong and resilient. Hope is angry and doesn’t know who she can trust anymore. “I don’t feel like going back to mom’s right now.” Deacon tells her she doesn’t have to; she can stay there. He offers her the room beside his apartment. He knows it’s not her mother’s estate, but he wants to support her. Hope grimaces that it might be difficult while he’s married to Sheila. Deacon thinks they can make it work and asks her to trust him.

Liam Collapses

At Bill’s house, he tells Liam he’s listened to this long enough. He insists he’s put him and his brothers first in his life. Liam snarks, “Haven’t you heard? Dollar Bill always comes first.” Bill’s sick of his “woe is me” attitude. He had two remarkable women in his life in Steffy and Hope and screwed it up over and over again. “You did that, Mr. Waffle Man!” He isn’t perfect, but has always loved his son and protected him. Bill rants that he took Liam in when he showed up in town and made him a player in the family business. Bill complains that Liam is acts self-righteous while leaving a path of collateral damage behind him. “If you want to leave the company, leave! And don’t come crawling back. Do you understand me?!”

Bill tells Liam he has a meeting to go to. “When I return, don’t be here!” As Bill slams out the door, Liam’s vision goes blurry, and he staggers. Clutching onto a framed photo on the mantle, Liam sways and then faints. His head hits the corner of the coffee table as he goes down and he lies unconscious on the floor.
