Soap Opera Comings and Goings: Big Holiday Returns and Double Trouble

Casting For The Week of December 23, 2024

Find out if any of your favorite actors and actresses from yesteryear are returning to the shows you watch, if any newcomers have been cast in contract, recurring, or day-player roles, or if any popular performers are about to make their exit.

The Bold and the Beautiful

Ashley Jones returns to B&B as Dr. Bridget Forrester, Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) and Eric’s (John McCook) daughter, on Tuesday, December 24. The character last aired in September.

The long-missing Alley Mills is finally back on the scene as Pam Douglas, the late Stephanie’s (Susan Flannery) sister, on Tuesday, December 24. Mills made her last appearance on the soap in August.

Jennifer Gareis gets some screen time too. She pops in as Eric’s devoted wife, Donna Logan Forrester, this week.

Ashleigh Brewer returns as Ivy Forrester. She airs on Thursday, December 26 and Friday, December 27.

Christian Weissmann is back on the scene as Remy Pryce. The character continues to wreak havoc for Electra (Laneya Grace) on Thursday, December 26 and Friday, December 27.

Speaking of troublemakers Lisa Yamada also gets more airtime as Luna Nozawa. She’ll share scenes with Don Diamont’s Bill.

Last, but not least, French singer and personality Elsa Esnoult returns as Fanny Greyson. She airs on Friday, December 27.

The Young and the Restless

Telma Hopkins makes another appearance as Denise Tolliver, the detective Nate (Sean Dominic) hired to find his half-brother, Damian, on Y&R. (The Damian character has already been cast, and Days of our Lives alum Nathan Owens will be playing him.) She airs on Friday, December 27.

Michael Damian resurfaces as Danny Romalotti. The character, who’s been off on a rock tour, hopes for a Christmas miracle on Wednesday, December 25 .

Ray Wise is back as Ian Ward. Look for the character to share scenes with Cait Fairbanks’ Tess and Melissa Ordway’s Abby on Friday, December 27.

General Hospital 

The stream of favorites home for the holidays that began last week on GH proceed into this one.  Robert Gossett continues his visit as Curtis’ (Donnell Turner) father, Marshall Ashford. Look for the character to share scenes with Turner, Brook Kerr’s Portia, Vernee Watson’s Stella and Tabyana Ali’s Trina.

Meanwhile, Finola Hughes’ Anna is slated for a surprise on Monday, December 23. In the past the character’s granddaughter, Emma, has popped into town to pay her grandmother a visit for special occasions. Might Brooklynn Rae Silzer be making another appearance as Emma Drake? Or will it be someone else?

William Lipton returned for a short, but sweet pre-Christmas visit as Cameron Webber. Elizabeth’s (Rebecca Herbst) eldest son, who Lipton originally played from 2018 to 2023 until the character headed off to Stanford University, made a brief appearance on the show earlier this year.

Lipton was joined by Indi Star, who played Cameron’s new girlfriend, Gretchen. The actress/musician has previously appeared on the Netflix series, Dead to Me, and in the film, The Hyperion.

Gary James Fuller gets more screen time as Maxie’s (Kirsten Storms) adorable and precocious son, James. The tyke will air in scenes with his TV mom, John J. York’s Mac, Kristina Wagner’s Felicia, Josh Kelly’s Cody and others.

Days of our Lives

A prominent DAYS star is pulling double duty again. Deidre Hall, best known for her role as Marlena Evans, turns up as the good doc’s lookalike, Hattie Adams, on Monday, December 23.  She’ll share scenes with Galen Gering’s Rafe, Greg Rikaart’s Leo and Martha Madison’s Belle.

Sal Stowers and Lamon Archey continue their holiday visit as Lani and Eli Grant. The couple appears on Thursday, December 26, in scenes with Jackée Harry’s Paulina and James Reynolds’ Abe, and their adorable onscreen twins join them. Namely, Dion and Raegen Yancy share the role of young Jules Grant, and Zyair and Zamir Ashford portray Carver Grant.

Finley Rose Slater pops in as Rachel Black on Thursday, December 26. The young actress shares screen time with Stacy Haiduk, who plays her TV mom, Kristen, and Sal Stowers.

Xander (Paul Telfer) and Sarah’s (Linsey Godfrey) daughter finally makes another appearance. The Kerr twins, who debuted back in May, air in Christmas scenes on Wednesday, December 25.

Madelyn Kientz pops back in as Sophia Choi on Friday, December 27, 2024. She interacts with  Leo Howard’s Tate and Ashley Puzemis’s Holly.
