Thomas Could Get Mixed Up In The Buckinghams’ Drama Again on B&B

It all depends on whether when he returns to Los Angeles, he’s still with Paris.

The Bold and the Beautiful Thomas and Paris.

Grace Buckingham’s scheme to trick Bill out of $1 million on The Bold and the Beautiful brought back painful memories for Hope and the Spencers. This isn’t the first time a Dr. Buckingham has played God with their lives. Grace’s ex-husband, Reese, told Liam and Hope that their daughter, Beth, died and then sold her to Steffy in order to pay off his gambling debts. He was desperate to keep bookies from harming his daughter, Zoe, and it cost him his freedom.

Put in the same position over those same gambling debts, Grace chose to make Liam believe he was dying of brain cancer. She faked his symptoms with prescriptions and then offered him a miracle procedure. Bill leapt at that chance to save his son, and Grace received the money she needed to save her life and her daughters’.

The jig is up now, but that doesn’t mean B&B is through with this storyline. There’s a major player from the original Buckingham crime that’s about to be brought back into the fold. He could play a part in what happens next. In fact, Thomas may already be involved.

Grace may have reached out to Thomas

For weeks, B&B viewers were treated to mysterious phone calls Grace (Cassandra Creech) was receiving while at work. They stoked the flames of the story that was about to land. But there was one call that she took that didn’t put her on edge, and we’re not referring to her chat with Paris (Diamond White). She’d told the person she was just about to call them, but the audience was never told who she was speaking to. Perhaps it was Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) on the line.

It was odd when Grace revealed that she hadn’t extorted Bill (Don Diamont) for the full amount that Reese (Wayne Brady) owed. Bill admitted he would have paid anything for the chance that his son would live, so why didn’t she press for all of the money? One theory would be that she had a portion of the funds covered.

Paris is engaged to Thomas. Grace may have asked him for help. If she did, that would explain why she didn’t need more of Bill’s money than she felt was reasonable for an experimental surgery. However, Thomas could be out of the loop regarding Grace’s manipulation of the Spencers. This would be a different outcome from how his involvement with Reese’s crime played out before.

Thomas’ history with the Buckinghams

At the time, when Thomas learned the truth about Beth, he’d intended to tell Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) that her daughter, Phoebe, was actually Liam (Scott Clifton) and Hope’s (Annika Noelle). He initially sat on the secret because he couldn’t work up the nerve to break his sister’s heart. But then his decision took a nefarious turn. Deeply in love with Hope, to the point of obsession, Thomas believed keeping the secret would keep her in his life. They’d become a family with his son, Douglas (Henry Samiri), and he wasn’t willing to let that go.

Emma (Nia Sioux), a Forrester intern, lost her life due to his desperation. He bullied and threatened Flo (Katrina Bowden) and Xander (Adain Bradley) into keeping quiet when they learned the truth. Even Douglas wasn’t spared from his ire. But the truth did come out, and with it went his marriage to Hope. Thomas eventually started a romance with Zoe (Kiara Barnes), but that, too, became a ploy to get Hope back.

Later, he attempted to see if Paris would be interested in dating, but her relationship with his cousin, Zende (Delon de Metz), had gotten serious, and she had no plans to test the waters. B&B circled back to their potential off-screen after Thomas and Hope’s years-in-the-making romance ended. He came back to town engaged and, though Hope tried to get him to give their relationship another chance, he went back to France, firmly seeing Paris as his future.

Will Thomas Clean Up Grace’s Mess?

With Thomas presumably still set to marry into the Buckingham family, he may see it as his duty to help his future mother-in-law, however he can. Grace was wrong, but she took action to protect her girls. As someone who has done the unforgivable for the sake of his own agenda, Thomas is unlikely to condemn her the way everyone else has.

This would put him at odds with Hope and the Spencers, but for a different reason than the last time. This go-round, he’d be supporting Paris’ family not because it benefits him but because they’re soon to be his family, too. And family protects their own.
