For years, Baylen Dupree was told by doctors that her Tourette’s Syndrome was something she would simply have to live with. There was no cure, no meaningful intervention — only management and endurance. But during a recent appearance on The Sarah Fraser Show, the Baylen Out Loud star shared an experience that marked a significant turning point in her journey.
Dupree revealed that she has been testing a wearable technology called NewPulse, a device she described as offering something she had rarely felt before: hope.
A Different Kind of Treatment
Unlike traditional medical treatments, NewPulse does not involve medication or surgery. Instead, it is worn on the wrist and delivers targeted electrical pulses that travel up the arm and interact with neurological pathways in the brain. The goal is to help regulate the frequency and intensity of tics associated with Tourette’s Syndrome.
According to Dupree, the device can be adjusted in real time using a smartphone app, allowing users to control the strength and frequency of the pulses depending on their environment.

Putting NewPulse to the Test
To better understand the device’s real-world impact, Dupree traveled to London, where NewPulse is currently being tested and used more widely. During her visit, she wore the device in a range of settings — from quiet medical offices to crowded, high-noise environments such as a live cricket match.
The experience, she said, was emotional.
Dupree recalled telling the creators of NewPulse, “You are going to change people’s lives,” after seeing how the device performed under pressure. While she was careful to clarify that it did not eliminate her symptoms entirely, she emphasized that it offered a level of control she had not experienced before.
Availability Remains Limited
Despite the promising results, NewPulse is not yet available in the United States. The device is currently awaiting approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, with a projected launch planned for 2026.
Dupree acknowledged the frustration felt by American fans and families affected by Tourette’s, adding that she is prepared to advocate for broader access if necessary.
“I’ll go to the Hill if I have to,” she said, referring to potential efforts to push for regulatory approval.

Dupree has been careful to manage expectations, repeatedly stressing that NewPulse is not a cure for Tourette’s Syndrome. Instead, she views it as an additional tool — one that could significantly improve quality of life for people living with the condition.
For Dupree, the emotional impact of the experience was undeniable. After years of being told to simply cope, she finally felt heard by a technology designed with her reality in mind.
As NewPulse moves closer to potential approval in the U.S., one question remains: could this wearable device represent a new chapter in how neurological conditions like Tourette’s are treated — not just managed, but meaningfully supported?
