Welcome to Plathville: Ethan Explodes, Calls Olivia a ‘Liar’ – The Truth Behind Their Shocking Divorce Drama!

I am not arguing with you over the details of the divorce,” Ethan Plath tells ex-wife Olivia in PEOPLE’s exclusive preview of the show’s season 7 finale

Ethan and Olivia Plath are sitting down together for the first time in a year-and-a-half.

PEOPLE has an exclusive first look at the season 7 finale of Welcome to Plathville, airing Sept. 30, where the exes meet up to discuss the final stages of their divorce proceedings. However, the conversation quickly turns tense when the two realize they are not seeing eye-to-eye.

“Look, I am not arguing with you over the details of the divorce,” Ethan declares. “All I’m saying is I have everything lined up. Let’s do it and move on.”

The pair jointly filed for divorce in February 2024 after five years of a tumultuous marriage and a four-month separation.

“We can, and I’m not arguing with you either, but you made me wait a year and a half,” Olivia explains. “You can at least be polite about asking.”

Ethan claims that he has been polite “in every way.”

“I’m not apologizing for any of that,” he adds.

In her confessional, Olivia admits that she “knew” Ethan “was not in a good mood” from the moment she saw him, but she was still hoping their dynamic would be different.

“I should know by now not to walk into it with expectations,” she says.

Back at the table, Ethan goes on to reveal one more request he has for Olivia.

“Will you please stop slandering, disrespecting my family in public for things, whether you perceive them to be true or not?” he asks. “Would you please stop?”

“No,” Olivia replies. “It’s not slander.”

“It is slander,” Ethan insists, but Olivia continues to push back: “Me talking about my life and my experiences is not slander.”

“Anyone can say they experience anything, but if it’s factually not true, it is slander,” Ethan argues before drawing comparisons between Olivia and his brother Micah’s girlfriend, Veronica Peters.

“Olivia seems to be coming closer and closer to what Veronica is, and that’s a sad reality,” he tells cameras. “I thought Olivia was more tactful. I thought, you know, she wouldn’t just outright lie about things like Veronica. And I just, I see them both the same now. They’re both liars.”

“It’s infuriating to me because what she walked into, she claims it’s awful,” he adds as the clip comes to an end. “Some of it may have been unpleasant, but it is not nearly as bad as she makes it out to be. And it’s also 100% true that the majority of the problems that she wants to talk about today of her experience, she also created.”
