American Pickers: What Happened? Why Did Danielle Colby Delete Her Instagram Account?

The History Channel star recently announced ‘big transitions’ in her life via social media.

American Pickers star Danielle Colby recently claimed the History Channel series is “done” after 27 seasons—but did she delete her Instagram account after posting?

On Wednesday, Dec. 3, Colby took to her Instagram grid, which has the handle @dannie_diesel_ecdysiast, with a video on her 50th birthday.

“I just found out that American Pickers is done,” she revealed in the clip, after detailing how she spent her birthday.

“So, I am at this epic crossroads where I’ve laid out what I want to do,” she pointed out, noting that she was now relying on her Ecdysiast Arts Museum and other business endeavors for income. “But now is the time where I like have to, like, fully dig in and commit to this plan that I have laid out. And without the financial support of American Pickers, it’s going to be a wild one.”

When asked if American Pickers was canceled, a representative for the History Channel told Parade, “There is no truth to it. The fact is, we aren’t producing new episodes right now because we have a season in the can already and Mike [Wolfe] was doing his new show, but we could go back into production early next year.”

By Thursday, Dec. 4, a report surfaced that Colby had deleted her Instagram account after claiming American Pickers was canceled. So, is there any truth to this?

Although her old account, @daniellecolbyamericanpicker, has been inactive since January 2025, fans can rest assured that she is still posting on her @dannie_diesel_ecdysiast Instagram profile, as of writing.
