What Victor is Really Planning for Kyle on Young and the Restless
Guess who he’ll manipulate next!

On the August 21 episode of The Young and the Restless, Victor suddenly did an about-face and told Claire that he won’t stand in the way of her relationship with Kyle, while telling Kyle that he passed the test and is now good enough to date Victor’s granddaughter. Victoria and Nikki were suspicious, but as soon as Diane and Jack expressed their qualms, they instantly leapt to defending the great and powerful Victor. We’re with Diane and Jack on this one. We think we know exactly what Victor is plotting.
And It’s Not My Fault at All
Claire (Hayley Erin) warned Victor (Eric Braeden) that, if he kept objecting to her and Kyle’s (Michael Mealor) relationship, Claire would cut him off. Victor can’t have that. A grandchild not worshipping him goes against the laws of nature.
So Victor adjusted his course. He told Claire he was generously allowing her to live her one life, even if that includes Kyle. That way, when it all falls apart, she won’t blame him.
Let Nature Take Its Course
And it will fall apart. Not because Kyle is immature and can’t keep any relationship. That will help, but Victor doesn’t have the patience to wait.
Instead, what if Victor summons Summer back home from Italy and gives her the same speech he gave Claire about how he grew up a poor orphan (did you know that he mentions it so rarely?) and how important family is, especially for a child to have his parents together? Hey, how is Harrison (Redding Munsell) dealing with Kyle and Summer’s split?
And a Child Shall Lead Them
Yup, Victor will manipulate Summer into manipulating Harrison into sobbing his big, blue eyes out over Mommy and Daddy’s divorce and his subsequent living in two homes. Sure, Harrison loved Claire when she was his nanny, but as soon as Victor explains to Summer to explain to Harrison that Claire is the reason he can’t live with them both, that infatuation should come to an end.
Kyle will have to dump Claire and return to Summer. And when Claire sobs about her broken heart, Grandpa Victor will take her in his arms, pat her on the head, and mumble, “There, there, my sweetheart. Just remember, none of this is my fault…”
