Whitney Way Thore Facing Huge Life Changes
Whitney Way Thore has been sharing her life’s ups and downs with TLC viewers since 2015. In the last decade, My Big Fat Fab Life fans have watched Whitney struggle with her weight, navigate finding love as a woman of size, and, most recently, try to have a baby.
Throughout those years, the show was filmed in her hometown of Greensboro, North Carolina. But the reality star took the plunge and moved thousands of miles away from home.
Inside Whitney Way Thore’s New Cottage-Style Home In Salem, MA
Whitney Way Thore signed a lease in April on a two-bedroom, one-bath cottage-style home in Salem, MA. The home came furnished, and the reality star found it a relief not to have to decorate the new house.
She chatted with Realtor.com about the stunning home. She said that she normally loved to redecorate her home in North Carolina often. But she didn’t get that urge with the house in Salem. “I always want to fill up a space with a bunch of my stuff, and the way that I feel in that house is that it feels like it’s already enough,” she said about the Salem home.
She did bring along her dog, Goosie. She gushed over the home’s prime spot next to the beach. “This house is by the water and I really just felt very, it sounds so corny, but I felt very at peace there. I think the best word to describe it for me is bright and light,” Whitney Way Thore described the vibe.
Whitney Way Thore revealed that her favorite part of the house is the shower. “The bathroom is so big and roomy. I am one of those people, I like to process in the shower, so I cry in the shower, I daydream in the shower, I dance in the shower,” she said.

In a candid moment, she admitted that reclaiming her privacy was part of the reason for the move. She said that fans of her show come to her home in North Carolina all the time. But she was able to enjoy her new home in Salem without the public knowing about the move.
“Salem is also such a small community that I feel a lot of protection there in a way, although I haven’t been there during tourist season yet,” she said about her new location. Salem is a popular tourist spot in the months leading up to Halloween.
