Fifteen years ago, Whitney Duncan and Keith Tollefson fell in love in Samoa. The two developed feelings for each other during Season 23 of Survivor and continued their relationship after the show ended.
“He held my hand on the third night of the game, and the rest is history,” Duncan previously told People magazine.
Duncan and Tollefson later competed together on The Amazing Race in 2014. But more than a decade later, what is the status of their relationship today? Read on to learn everything we know about where they stand now.

Do Whitney Duncan and Keith Tollefson have children?
Yes, they have two children. Their son, Duncan, was born in October 2022, followed by their daughter, Vada, in October 2024.
Before welcoming their first child, Duncan opened up about the couple’s struggles with infertility. The singer explained that hormone testing revealed she had a low egg reserve. After seven years of taking a “whatever happens, happens” approach without getting pregnant, Duncan later discovered she had uterine fibroids, which were surgically removed. Additional blood tests confirmed she also had a “low ovarian reserve.”
By 2021, Duncan had undergone two rounds of in vitro fertilization (IVF), both unsuccessful. However, in April 2022, the former reality TV stars confirmed they were expecting their first child.
“Thank God… WE ARE PREGNANT!” Duncan wrote on Instagram. “Our little miracle is due in October 2022 🧡 I’ll share more about this long and difficult journey later, but for now we are just incredibly happy and excited!”
In a 2026 interview with People, Duncan and Tollefson revealed that they have not yet told their children how they met.
“The kids are still too young, so we haven’t told them yet, but I’m really excited to watch our season together with them in a few years,” Tollefson said.
Who was Whitney Duncan’s first husband?
Duncan’s first husband was Donny Fallgatter. The two secretly married in August 2010, and Duncan kept the relationship private during her time on Survivor. In fact, even their loved ones believed they were only “engaged” before Duncan left to film the show in May 2011.
According to Us Weekly, Duncan told Fallgatter about her island romance “the day she returned home” from filming. The couple divorced in November of that year, while the show was still airing.
Survivor viewers watched Duncan’s emotional bond with Tollefson unfold on screen, and she later confirmed to People that they shared their first kiss in Samoa.
“I wish they had filmed our first kiss,” Duncan said. “The sunset in Samoa — it was magical.”
Fallgatter is a musician who now owns a custom furniture shop in Nashville. He has been married since 2017.
