Photo Credit: ABCFans cannot contain their excitement over Ryan Paevey’s return to General Hospital. Will he be playing Nathan West? Someone entirely new? Or another blast from the past? One fan theory believes the last option.
Ryan Paevey As Peter August
Nathan West was a good guy and a beloved character. He had it all: a job as a detective at the PCPD, a loving marriage to the amazing Maxie (Kirsten Storms), and a baby on the way. Unfortunately, unbeknownst to Nathan, the evil Cesar Faison (Anders Hove) was his dad. Faison “accidentally” shot the son he had never known and killed him.
In the middle of this drama was Peter August (Wes Ramsey), who also happened to be Faison’s son and Nathan’s half-brother. It was Peter who lured his father to the Invader office, which led to Nathan’s death. He then became obsessed with Maxie, tricking her into believing he was a good guy and falling in love with him. Peter was eventually killed after the truth came out.
Now, a wild fan theory suggests that Paevey will play Peter, yet another GH character who will return from the dead. The catch is that Peter will be wearing a Nathan mask so that everyone believes he is the good detective, all so that he can get Maxie back. This theory stems from the fact that dear old dad Faison has played the mask trick before. Years ago, he had Anna (Finola Hughes) believing he was the love of her life, Duke (Ian Buchanan).
Peter Alive: No Way Or Yes Way?
Peter died with Anna by his side. She watched him take his last breath. So, he can’t possibly be alive. Tell that to Britt (Kelly Thiebaud), whose own mother held her while she died, only to be found amongst the living a few years later. Somehow, GH makes these things happen.
Peter’s return, pretending to be Nathan, could set off some wild stories. If Maxie believes Nathan is alive, what about her relationship with Spinelli (Bradford Anderson)? Would Peter kidnap Bailey Lu? Then again, if they want to have another dead character come back to life, why not Nathan? That is what most fans want to see. Whatever happens, please don’t bring the wonderful Ryan Paevey back as an Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth) type character. That was a disaster.
