The Young and the Restless spoilers reveal that while fans may not have been overly shocked that “Alan Laurent” ended up being, Martin Laurent (both characters played by Christopher Cousins) all along; however, the fact that the evil twin was the mysterious captor of Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) and Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) has caught many off guard.

While no one in GC knows this, one person connecting the dots is Traci Abbott, played by Beth Maitland. The actress recently spoke with TV Insider and teased what could happen next in this storyline.

Beth Maitland Wasn’t Shocked

Maitland told TV Insider that she wasn’t overly shocked to find out about the twin switch. After all, no one stays happy in the land of soaps for long, and if they do, they are, “… relegated to go upstairs to wash your hair and never come back.”

With that said, while it’s sad to see Traci go through so much heartache, especially since fans had thought she finally found her happily ever after, Maitland is happy that her character gets to take center stage in this storyline.

After all, it’s Traci seeing the warning signs in Alan’s behavior, plus picking up on his cell phone alerts that may end up exposing him.

Fans saw Traci have an emotional breakdown during the Thursday, March 27 show, when she revealed her suspicions about “Alan” to Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman). The good news is that Traci will remain safe and sound in Genoa City, but what about her sister, Ashley?

Beth Maitland Teases Danger On The Horizon For Ashley

During her interview, Maitland expressed how grateful she is to be a part of the arc, noting, “It’s definitely a generous story gift to Traci to be able to be a part of unraveling all of this.”

With that said, she also states that Traci will feel awful that she didn’t see the red flags in Martin earlier, which will cause her to feel responsible for what has happened to Phyllis, Sharon, and Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson).

Fans know that Phyllis and Sharon were kidnapped by Martin, but so far, he’s yet to do anything to Ashley. Martin is in Paris currently, or so he says, so could Ashley end up becoming his next victim as this arc explodes to an end?
