When it comes to being a star, The Young and the Restless’ Eric Braeden (Victor) is one of daytime’s biggest around so if he spots someone and thinks they too could be a star, well, he would know. The discovery started outside of his dressing room at the CBS studios…

A woman knocked on Braeden’s dressing room door, which was labeled 43 D: Private, do not enter. When the Daytime Emmy Award-winning actor answered, she gave a big shoutout, “Happy 45th anniversary on The Young and the Restless! For those who weren’t aware, February 8 marked his impressive milestone and the cast and crew came together to celebrate Braeden.

Anyway, back to the hallway encounter… Recognizing the woman from her affiliation with The Bold and the Beautiful, he stated, “I watch those shows sometimes.” Over talk of how long he’s been with the Genoa City soap, since 1980, the woman commented, “Oh my gosh, I was seven years old. I just wanted to tell you happy 45th anniversary.”

Suddenly, he nodded down the hall, as his executive producer and headwriter Josh Griffith approached them. Braeden then suggested that Griffith stop writing and become an actor and complimented him on his great teeth — ones that could help him begin a new career path.

After Braeden joked that Bold & Beautiful was trying to get him over there, Griffith replied, “No, I won’t allow it.” However, after the headwriter walked away, the woman asked if the actor would like to come over to Young & Restless’ sister soap, to which Braeden replied, “As Victor Newman I would… for a lot of money.”

While we would be up for him crossing his character back over to Bold & Beautiful, like he did in 1999, Genoa City wouldn’t be the same without the Mustache so we’re glad Griffith won’t allow it!
